I'm 40, and my rankings is still Season 3, Season 1, and Season 2. Season 3 mainly for nostalgic reasons and the Ro episode, Season 1 because on a rewatch I liked it a lot better even though I really disagreed with some of the decisions made, and Season 2 I still haven't rewatched since it first aired. I'm not sure if I'm ever going to, but I really have to be in a forgiving mood.

Nope, no issues, but the placement is still a bit awkward.

She has a shorter neck than the Enterprise.

Eaves didn't design it. It was designed by Bill Krause "AdmiralBuck." A god amongst "amateur" model builders. Lord Terry liked the design so much he asked to use it for the Titan.

He also design the 23rd century Stargazer with the Radiant Class.

Yes, that's a model. He's that good.
While I like the Shangri-La bit more than most people, I really prefer Bill Krause's TOS designs - to me they are his best work. I would love it if the Radiant class showed up on SNW.

Yeah, there's definitely a little SNW design esthetic in the Radiant class. It wouldn't stand out.

Season 3 was a big juicy fanservice burger that tasted great at the time, but in the months since, I've come to realize how empty the experience was.
While I've always been vocally critical of season 3, even while it was airing, I will admit that the first time around I kind of enjoyed it in a guilty pleasure sort of way. That is to say I looked forward each week to Thursday and the opportunity to scream "are you fucking shitting me?!" at my TV or laugh and shake my head at the sheer absurdity/stupidity going on this week. But when I rewatched it following the physical media release, I just did not enjoy it at all. It's probably the only time I've found something in Star Trek to have no redeemable value at all.
But the trouble with Shaw was that the biggest unresolved mystery of the season was "How the hell did he become a captain?" closely followed by "How the hell did he stay a captain?"
It's Starfleet. Their piss-poor standards at selecting Captains is shadowed only by their even worse standards at selecting Admirals.

I will say that Frakes gave his best performance here in Picard season 3 and the Ro episode was amazing. Dorn and Hurd had amazing chemistry and I loved what Jeri Ryan continuously brought to the table throughout Picard. Seven’s scene with Jack in “The Bounty” was a fine, fine moment for both characters.

There. I said nice things about Picard season 3. :p

Frakes was a consistent high point in every episode of Picard he appeared, even in season 1. Absolutely no notes.

That's essentially my experience as well. The first half of the season had me hooked to the point where I kept the fanboi goggles on and overlooked things growing creaky in the back half. And yes, I will freely admit seeing the Enterprise-D fly again for the first time my my heart feel full.

All that enthusiasm grows dimmer and dimmer as time goes by.

There was a similar thread to this started back in December. https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/season-three-the-search-for-causation.315717/

The results of the poll here and the results of the poll there only show who's posting in the forum and who's following it. They're snapshots in time of who's come-and-gone and which opinions are more prevalent.

Eight months ago, the people who considered Season 3 the best were 50% (43% grew up with TNG, 7% didn't) and the people who considered Season 1 the best were 50% (35% grew up with TNG, 15% didn't).

So it used to be 50/50. Now it's gone to 35% prefer Season 3, 65% prefer Season 1. The most useful thing this poll tells me so far is what I already suspected: people who like Season 3 are being driven off by people who look like they have an axe to grind with it. I'm glad this current poll has allowed me to be able to quantify the difference.
Just among my own friends the ones who didn't like 1-2 but loved 3 and defended it's nostalgia vociferously have mostly re-evaluated 3 once the initial excitement wore off.

Only the Lower Decks lover or the Discovery haters have been consistent in their feelings throughout the time period.

I'm 41 and I'd take season 1 over season 3 any day. Yes, season 1 has its flaws and I don't think PIC as a whole should ever have been made (sorry but not sorry) but I can at least appreciate the idea behind it and the fact that the show tried something different. I can NOT appreciate the "badfic come to life in order to cater to nostalgia" season 3 approach. I'd even take season 2 over season 3... it DID have this absolutely gorgeous evil black leather outfit version of Jean-Luc although I'm still miffed he didn't get to spend more time in that gorgeous outfit.

If one likes something, there’s nothing wrong with it. Same time, they shouldn’t get their feelings hurt when others don’t like it.

I love Into Darkness. Lots of people don’t, and have reasons that make sense to them. I’ve read a lot of those reasons over the years, here. Never really felt the need to be personally offended. Other ideas is a reason I’m a member here to begin with.

It would be pretty dull if everyone agreed with me.

I enjoyed 2/3rds of Into Darkness. If they had kept that kind of quality for the whole movie I would have looked fondly on it. For me it wasnt that into darkness was a bad movie. It was more of a disappointing and "what could have been" kind of movie.

I enjoyed the movie, but don’t see your analysis as unfair or picking on me.

I'd do a full thread explaining everything I like about Picard Season 3, meaning a Season As A Whole Thread, but I decided a while ago that there would be no point to it.

This is the life-cycle of things on TrekBBS (and much of the Internet in general): "I love it!" --> "I like it!" --> "I don't like it!" --> "I hate it!" --> "I forgot about it!" --> "It's not as bad as I remembered!" --> "I like it."

When we get closer to the end of this cycle, then I'll reconsider. [EDITED TO ADD: Assuming the board is still around by then.] Otherwise, what I've already posted previously elsewhere will have to do. It's just not a receptive audience right now.

In the meantime, I get a kick out of people defending Season 1 who hated it at the time. I liked it in 2020 and Today.

If you're looking for a safe space, I doubt you find it any more viable later than it is now.

And, really, season one didn't go off the rails, for me, until we found out Riker and Troi let their kid die because of a Federation mandate on AI. They simply aren't the Riker and Troi that I knew. As a parent of three kids, I found it offensive.
