It was like in early Discovery, where someone pulled up the five greatest Starfleet captains (Saru, maybe), and it is all names that we already know. Nothing new, just regurgitation.
Welcome to Star Trek.
And the TrekBBS.

Maybe some Admiral at Starfleet command wanted to start a war with the Cardassians. Maybe some admiral from the border colony's.
Set up a false flag to finish the spoon heads off once and for all.

Exactly.Maybe Admiral Kennelly, from "Ensign Ro".
Yeah, she's not pretty.
But then modern streaming Trek often treats 23rd century starships like flying letter openers, toothpicks and Picasso subjects.
So true.Yeah, she's not pretty.

I thought it was the physical model, but you're right that is a beautiful render... of a slightly less than beautiful ship. I don't think it's that far off looking like a proper polished ILM-quality movie-era vessel though, it just needs a few more revisions. Maybe even a bit of meddling by producers who sometimes have a couple of right ideas.Nice render, but man is that ugly.

Unfortunately the Titan-A came out looking a bit worse.
Better having three up on the rim than putting one down on the neck which can't even fire forward because the bottom of the saucer is in the way.I'm not a fan of the ship having a bank of three photon torpedo tubes where the Connies, Mirandas and Excelsiors have banks withy just two tubes apiece, but I figure Eaves wanted to show that Starfleet was upping its defensive technology game as it approached a new century.

Nope, no issues, but the placement is still a bit awkward. The Enterprise didn't seem to have any issues with firing their photon torpedoes.
Eaves didn't design it. It was designed by Bill Krause "AdmiralBuck." A god amongst "amateur" model builders. Lord Terry liked the design so much he asked to use it for the Titan.I'm not a fan of the ship having a bank of three photon torpedo tubes where the Connies, Mirandas and Excelsiors have banks withy just two tubes apiece, but I figure Eaves wanted to show that Starfleet was upping its defensive technology game as it approached a new century.

He also design the 23rd century Stargazer with the Radiant Class.

Yes, that's a model. He's that good.
Yeah..... some of his older stuff isn't really my cup of tea. But his newer stuff is top notch! That profile.![]()
I kinda view Shaw as a victim of the Peter Principle - he kept succeeding in his prior positions with Starfleet, and the move to starship Captain was more a case of failing upwards.Federation is in constant conflicts. Can’t afford to throw people away.
This is one thing that I'm amazed Roddenberry allowed especially in the first season of TNG, where he was still trodding out his "New Human" concept. Must've been something Maurice Hurley snuck in after he talked Gene into taking a vacation.Admiral Mark Jameson in Season 1 of TNG basically spent 45 years illegally arming a civil war on a non-Federation world for shits and giggles and put the safety of both the Enterprise-D and Picard's crew at risk in the conflict, one which threatened to pull in the Federation.
I'm honestly not a fan of the Titan/Enterprise-G's design. It's a reworking of a fan design which itself appears to be a reworking of the fan-made Belknap and Akyazi designs... which are reworkings of the refit. It's regurgitation on top of more regurgitation.Eaves didn't design it. It was designed by Bill Krause "AdmiralBuck." A god amongst "amateur" model builders. Lord Terry liked the design so much he asked to use it for the Titan.![]()
