Instead of DQ, should Voyager have been in another galaxy?

What happened in the Odyssey is that Neptune had a hard on to fuck with Odysseus, and kept raising ridiculous winds that always blew in the wrong direction quite fast, wouldn't let his ship go home.

Imagine if Caretaker was Seven years from Federation space, but every week Janeway would have a cocked up bassackwards adventure that would add another 5 to 20 years on to the trip home.

The Odyssey wouldn't work as a long-term TV series either, there's only enough material there for a mini-series.

Homer never would've wanted anyone to drag the Odyssey on and on and on. That's why his version isn't even that long either.

The siege at Troy lasted ten years and return home took 20 years. Meanwhile, I've seen a couple editions of this book you could choke a donkey with.

It's big and goes on for fucking ever..

Are you doubting Homer's vision?

Well, yeah, since he might have been blind.

Did I do that? ;)

Yeah, and most of those 10 years of Siege and 20 years of travel is glossed over in like a paragraph. Mainly because overly extrapolating things is pretty boring, and even Homer knew this over 1000 years ago.

Harry, and a couple of the other really new officer must have thought for the first couple weeks, that the entire Delta Quadrant adventure must have been a follow up on their psych testing by Starfleet.

Forgive me, was Voyager 830,000 hours long?

Not it wasn't.

Ihey just showed up the most interesting 115 hours.

Wait. DQ?
