Indiana Jones 5. It's official.

I gotta think that Karen Allen will have to be involved in some way. She is, after all, married to him now and just as much of an adventurer as he is. So unless she's somehow died since the last film, I think she has to be there.. Mutt can be off in some far away land at a dig or something. I have zero interest in him being there, even if he's recast.

I want to see it because Indiana Jones. I want to see it because Harrison Ford is fun. I don't want to see it because both of these things are well past their prime, and might not work at all in a more modern setting with modern writers, and that's going to really play into it.

They could both be retired in some cabin in the wilderness somewhere, with the grandchildren coming to visit and Marion could be feigning disbelief at the story he's telling his grandson. She'd probably know he's embellishing it to some degree.

I don’t think this would happen (pretty sure Harrison wouldn’t go for it, for one), but just throwing it out to test reactions - what if they used the sort of de-ageing SFX that the MCU or even The Irishman used to take 20 years or so off Harrison’s appearance?

For some flashbacks, yes, but I don't want to see a whole movie of it. I think it's cool the tech has advanced to the point that they can do it, but it's just enough "off" that having a full two hours of de-aged Harrison Ford would be off putting.

Yeah, once you're aware of it (and we would be immediately), you notice it. That gets exhausting and distracting at the same time.

Or just get Dennis Quaid

I don't get the point of doing this. If Ford's in the movie then I want to see Ford without some CGI filter on his face.

The problem is they still move and sound like old guys.

News update: Thomas Kretschmann has joined the cast.

Hell even in Rogue One when Vader looks exactly like he should you could tell James Earl Jones' voice had aged considerably. They'd have to use stuntmen to pull it off, then at that point, how much is Harrison actually going to be in the film?

The '70s were rife with films and books about Nazi's who got away and were about to unleash a 4th Reich on the world. Stories like Boys from Brazil and real-life cases like Mengele and Eichmann (60s but close enough) were common TV, film and book fodder. With Jones' history of making trouble for Nazi's, a story along these lines wouldn't surprise me. Speilberg said after Schindler that he wouldn't be able to do a film like Raiders with film-villain-type Nazi's again, but he isn't directing this time. Maybe this is part of the reason why.

He does hate those guys.

Set photos gleam some light into possible story. Props are being set up in Scotland

Looks to have a serpent deity craving or something? Lots of intertwining design on it

That would certainly scare Indiana Jones. A 100 foot mythical snake. could it be representing Jörmungandr?
