If there was to be a new series with one established character

Ooh, tough one... I guess I'd most want to reboot Voyager, with far more serialization and far fewer episodes per season, re-using some of its aliens and major locational landmarks, but revamping just about everything else, but that's against the OP rules.

I'll have to go with The Doctor. Dejected over losing Seven to an organic with far less personality than himself, he grows himself an organic body, implants his own neural net, and thus becomes pretty much fully human, mortality and all.

This sets up a wacky, Saved By the Bell meets Spin City half-hour sitcom where Starfleet Academy Professor Doc must deal with unruly classes, workplace drama, and the general foibles of dating, sex and being his own, awesome self.

Garak hands down. There is a massive back story on the guy. Yes I know about Andrew Robinson's book he wrote but they should of done a spin off with that in mind.

^ Perhaps a series based on Cardassia Prime, post-Dominion War, with Garak using his Obsidian Order background to do whatever it takes to rebuild?

For a character to have a series built around them requires that they have a whole lotta oomph: Spock and Garak are my picks.

A show about a bald captain and a first officer who was once romantically involved with the dark-haired ship's counselor... except this time it's Captain Tuvok, Commander O'Brien and Counselor Garak.

I don´t want another series on a Federation Starship, but I´d like to see the Cardassian point of view.
If its after 2375 I like the Garak/ rebuilding Cardassia idea, someone posted on here.
If its set before that time I´d also like to see more about Garaks, Dukats and/ or Damars background and generally the life and adventures on a cardassian ship...and their view of the federation, when they meet their ships.

In some alternate universe out there, I could see a TV series around Data in a future phase of his life.

Data the adult gallivanting around the universe. In-universe it be decades after the events of TNG, though in real life Spiner'd go immediately to another series - like Dorn on DS9. I see Data as a part-Doctor Who-like character. He couldn't just be a regular adult person - his life's been too different. But he'd have a unique perspective on things, being a super-intelligent veteran of countless missions across countless lightyears...and regular years.

I don't know what the show'd be like...him as a captain of a new crew or a Dr. House-like character leading a pack of young scientists on a mission across the galaxy.

It'd be a major departure from the character we knew...it would basically involve recapturing lightning in a bottle, but like Frasier after Cheers, it could be marvelous.

For me it would be T'Pol. She was a young 66 years old when she served on the Enterprise NX-01. There could be plenty of adventures before that....

I've always been intrigued by Section 31. I'd like to see Bashir actually recruited and then getting into morally dirty adventures; behind the scenes at Starfleet Command type of thing.

Now that Wil Wheaton has re-invented himself, I'd also like to see a Wesley Crusher series-- not Starfleet Wesley; renegade, semi-bitter superpowered Wesley popping around the galaxy and running into anyone he pleases... although honestly, there's not an idea in this thread I wouldn't watch.

Wesley and the Traveller! I don't know how you could create tension with an all powerful protagonist though...

I wouldn't mind the adventures of Riker on the Titan, but only if it was an animated series. I don't want to see fat old frakes and grandma troi running around the galaxy. Well, that's a lie. I'd love to see that, but I'm sure tv executives wouldn't. So it'd definitely need to be animated.

Most likely none of the ideas in this thread will ever happen, though.

If there's ever a new trek show, it will probably be all new, and set in the JJ-verse. Old trek is dead.
