If there was to be a new series with one established character

You_Will_Fail

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
Who would you want it to be?
I wouldn't mind having Ezri Dax since we only saw her for one season anyway, but Seven of Nine would probably be even better...I still feel there's a lot more to her we haven't seen.
I most wouldn't want to see Worf, I'm completely Klingoned out.

I've been working on my own fiction called... The Adventures of James T. Kirk in the 24th Century. Which focuses on a clone of Kirk (think TOS season 1) being brought to life and commanding a starship in the 24th century. Focuses on his trying to cope with the differences between the 23rd and 24th centuries and trying to live up to the legacy of the original Jim Kirk. :D

Any character, huh? I think I'd go with Guinan. Could be set anywhere, and anywhen. There's a lot of history to mine with her character.

BillJ - Not quite sure I'm understanding the premise of your story. Why would a clone be trying to live up to the legacy of the original? And why would he need to cope with differences in centuries? He's a clone, so he wouldn't have of the original Kirk's memories, and being brought to live in the 24th century, he wouldn't have any personal knowledge of Kirk's era, except what he read in the history books.

My post here got really long as an idea I've had for years (but never wrote down) started pouring out all at once. I moved it here.

Good question! Believe it or not I think I have a good answer.

The clone has had the memory engrams recorded on Exo III (What Are Little Girls Made Of?) from android Kirk imprinted (somehow :guffaw:) into his brain. Still working on the details. ;). So he is essentially Kirk at that stage of his life.

He is as much Jim Kirk as Jim Kirk was at that stage in his life.

Wouldn't mind seeing more Ezri, maybe something from what she does in the novels (vague to avoid spoilers).

I think the Sulu Adventures is a given. It's a crying shame that never happened.

When I first saw the thread title, it made me think of something else: I've long thought that the next TV series we get should avoid starting out with the ensemble crew that we've gotten from TNG onwards, and go back to starting out with a trio like TOS (and to some degree, ENT) pulled off very well. You could even start with just one character, and put him down lower in the chain of command so you can watch his/her rise through the ranks, and add in peripheral characters as you go, growing into an ensemble instead of forcing it.

Personally, I wouldn't mind a Pike or Robau series.

Sounds like an idea straight from Shatner and the Reeves-Stevenses.

I'll take that as high praise. ;)

As with any idea it's all in the execution. :)

I always wished they made Sulu series. Now I wouldn't mind Riker on USS Titan too.

Edit:
And I like the idea of Dax with a male host too :)

Wesley. He was awesome on TNG, and I think it hurt the show when they took him off. His brief appearance in Nemesis saved that movie from being a disaster.

....or failing that, Ezri Dax.

;)

Well...on the subject of Ezri Dax as the lead...

I wouldn't mind her also narrating the stories, with voice-overs of her thoughts and commentary on the events and the characters she interacts with.

Star Trek:Excelsior
tv series should have been made about Captain Sulu adventures based upon ST VI and VOY "Flashback" episode.

Star Trek:Titan tv series would be great too with Captain Riker, Troi and maybe Chief Engineer Wesley Crusher?

I have to vote for a show about Captain Robau. Even with what little time he was onscreen in the movie he really made an impression on me.

I'll go with Risa Nights where Riker is a P.I. by day and gets with the ladies at night.
