If there was an S3 of Short Treks, what do you expect to see?

The Glenn crew wore the Disco uniforms so that would fit into your theory.
But the captain of the captain of the USS Gagarin was wearing the Disco uniform, also. Then again the crew aboard the Cabot were wearing the colorful uniforms. Its interesting from an in-world explanation perspective, though I am sure, in general, the costuming department is happy to be shut of the complicated 1st and 2nd season uniforms.

edit: add USS De Milo as a ship wearing the Disco uniforms.

The Glenn, Gagarin and De Milo being under the purview of Section 31 makes sense, and those with the DIS uniforms but no black badges are unwitting resources for Section 31 to use to serve the Federation. For whatever reason, the Federation saw it as acceptable to give Section 31 free reign to do whatever ops or experiments they wanted.

It would also help to explain the line of no one seeing a Klingon in 100 years when the Federation and the Klingons are supposed to be engaged in unremitting hostilities for 30 years by the start of DIS. It would mean that is really Section 31 that has had limited communication with the Klingons in 100 years, while the Federation has continually had to deal with the hostilities in the meantime.

My number one wish, TBH, is a revisitation of Garak and Bashir, where Garak finally comes out of the closet about what his true feelings for Julian was.

I don't need them established as a happy couple - Julian always seemed oblivious to what was going on - but I think this is one of those "owes the fans" things that actually should be done.

-Really liking the idea of a Captain April short.
-Also like the idea of a Prime Lorca short, though I would like it more if he was on SNW.
-I also would like to see Captain Harriman get some live-action redemption, and it would be good to see Demora Sulu again as well.
-A Kirk short. I don't know how they could make it work, but it would be so cool to see William Shatner back.
-It would be great if they could get George Takei and Walter Koenig back as well. It would be great to see them reprise their roles.
-I also would like to see some of the ENT crew again, perhaps a way to get more proper closure for their series.
-I imagine they would save it for PIC, but I wouldn't mind seeing a Stargazer short. In keeping with PIC, I would like to see some shorts for Raffi and Rios. A Hugh short would be nice too.

A couple of shorts showing events at future Starfleet HQ before Burnham and Discovery arrive. Perhaps leading up to and following the "Burn".

Something showing Sulu looking back at the fates of the TOS crew. Perhaps featuring Walter Koenig too.

A Trill story sometime in the future revealing the focus character is a Dax right at the end.

Seeing how Rafaella ended up where she did.

Nothing animated.

I was 110% sure Michael would find a bunch of ancient audio recordings Spock had made for her in season 3, but it never happened. Maybe it'd make for an emotional Short Trek, expanding on that sweet scene where she sees the "Unification" clip of her brother as an old man.

It would bridge Strange New Worlds with Disco's future era.

Maybe messages from all the Discovery crew's families in a time capsule.

Honestly, I think Short Treks have outlived their purpose. Their primary reason for existing was to keep subscribers interested with new Star Trek content for the long wait in between seasons. That's no longer an issue.

That said, Akiva Goldsman recently mentioned that he would love to do a Star Trek anthology series, "Tales of the Federation", that revisits old characters in full length episodes and most of the topics brought up in this thread would be better served there because they wouldn't be, you know, short.

I like this idea because I think you can do more with full-length episodes. The only two Short Treks that really stood out to me were "Calypso" and "The Trouble With Edward". The rest of S1 felt like DSC Bonus Scenes. And S2 felt like a test bed for SNW and more Bonus Material for DSC and PIC.

I think an Anthology Series would also be a good spot to try out different Star Trek concepts, to see what might have the best chance of having enough potential to become an actual series down the line.

Voyager EMH could be snippets as to how he has lived over the years and dealt with outliving friends perhaps even moving away from even being a doctor.

Vignettes during the Romulan War would be fun. Wildly different perspectives.

I want experiments in Trek storytelling. I don't want to necessarily see things I recognize. I want original stories that are just short?

Except for an episode on the Enterprise B with Alan Ruck. More B, please. I want that, I just realized.

These are not the purpose of Short Treks. They were meant to just be webisodes focusing on the shows they were currently producing.
