If Enterprise Came Back

Trip is named captain of the NX-03, the Asimov.

Most the time, I think Trip would make an /awful/ captain, given his quick to anger personality. But it sure is nice seeing him as an acting Captain. :]

The show ends with the christening of the new Enterprise NCC-01, commanded by Captain Malcolm Reed

This. Malcolm seriously needs some recognition. He's saved them so many times, and he's STILL just, for all intents and purposes, a Lieutenant. Seriously, make the man a captain, give him his own ship, and for god's sake let him actually captain it.

Fixing that last episode would also be nice, and I really think if Enterprise did come back to life, they should just re-do that whole thing. It was awful.

Honestly, what I love most about Enterprise are the characters. So for me, I really just want to see more of the characters. Particularly Malcolm and Trip, but...

You know, if I were in charge and it had an adventure set after 2161, I'd just go ahead and give the ship its NCC-01 registry. Assuming the Naval Contruction Contract number plates came in with the Federation. Has anyone ever studied other ENT era ships like the Intrepid close up? What numbering system do they carry? There's enough bitching about the NX never showing up in the future as it is, without creating another prequel ship called Enterprise. So maybe come up with an interesting way to keep it from being decomissioned after just 10 years. Have Archer pull some strings and keep the Fleet Museum waiting. Then there's the retro-fit option like TMP. Redesign the outer hull but keep the basic silhouette and give it a faster Warp 7 engine, obviously.
