I think my girlfriend is a Christian! Advice needed.

So now they've "split up" what's in store for the rest of the season? Because if that's all the finale we're getting, not worth it.

At this point, MB is going to have to cast a chimpanzee or an orangutan in his stories for them to get any better. If this is the finale, it makes "TATV" seem downright wonderful.

At this rate? I'd say any Christian woman who hates being stalked would be a suspect.

I thought I'd already explained that the reason we athesist are so passionate and vocal is becasue we see that the world could be a much better place WITHOUT religion?

Debatable. How many people are nice, charitable and such because of their religion?

Think about all the women who were burnt as witches.

Didn't happen by any meaningful manner and is over-blown by history and people like you. Oh, sure, it happened but it was hardly a wide-spread or even regular thing.

And scientists locked up in towers because they said the Earth was round.

This never happened. Now, sure, religious institutions did put Galileo under "house arrest" for thinking the Earth orbited around the sun but that really came more out of the ignorance of the time and only a touch of religion, though it was the religious body ruling at the time.

Even today women are still repressed because of religion all over the world. I saw a woman in a burkha right here in the good old USA the other day. They wouldn't have to suffer without religion.

The reasons women are oppressed in some parts of the world has little to do with religion (but not nothing to do with it.) There's a lot of reasons why it occurs, I doubt if they didn't have religion that they still wouldn't be oppressed, their oppression mostly comes from the ignorance that men are superior than women.

We'd have such amazing scientific advances by now if all those scientists hadn't been oppressed in the Dark Ages. Maybe even holodecks.

No.

Anyway, I didn't see her again today. She's going to fail her classes if she keeps missing them like this! I was going to ask her friends but they kind of glared at me when I looked at them.

Well, you did call their friend at 6:00 in the morning on a Sunday and pretty much bitched her out for dealing with an apparent family crisis.

What right do they have judging me?

Basic human ones.

Doesn't their bible assuming their [sic] Christians too, this whole place is full of them) say "don't judge or you'll be judged?

It says... something like that. But their Bible also says that they're sins are forgiven and they can pretty much do whatever they want so long as they have Belief.

I bet they've done some crazy things in the name of love in their lives like I have.

Things like helping others and the community. Bastards.

I only called her early once, it's not like I've been following her around harrassling her.

In that early phone call (placed at 6 am on a Sunday) you did pretty much harass her and come across as rather unsympathetic to her family situation. Oh, and then you awkwardly segued into a religions war with her.

One interesting thing that happened is that I got a text from the church where I was helping out with her (I'd given my number to a lady there, no not to score with her, she was old lol)

Oh, like you're not into older women. ;)

I guess it was just a standard text they sent to everyone. I wonder if I should go? I'm a hard worker and they'd appreciate my help.

Yes, go. By all means go.

Wait. She says she's going to feed the homeless after class through her church, and you never got the clue she was Christian? Seriously?

Wow...

Wow...

Baggins himself volunteered to help the homeless working in one of the shelters during the last season...I mean thread.

SO I decided to go to the church after all. I did feel some conflict before I went. Not because my ex might be there, she doesn't own the church. I've probably done nearly as much hard work there as she did (to be honest she goofed off while we were sorting out the food quite often.) No, I felt conflict because I'm not a Christian and in fact I think they should be stopped (using logic) and would I be a hypogrite if I went to church? I decided I wouldn't be, because what I care about even more than atheism is helping other people. I mean, the only reason I want to make people like my ex see the truth is because I care about helping them. I've done a lot of charity work before. It's something I feel very strongly about. So I did not feel bad at all when I went to the church.

One of the women who works there greeted me warmly and showed me a pile of stuff to sort. I looked around and couldn't see my ex anywhere. I was glad, I could now work without being distracted. People came and went as I worked. There really was quite a lot of sorting to do. I noticed the woman who had greeted me there and struck up a conversation with her. No I wasn't trying to hit on her, she's forty. I asked if there was anything else I could help with. She said not right now but she appreciated what I was doing and it was a HUGE HELP as she and the others were really big organizing something major with another charity. I asked what and she said some people from the church would be going overseas to do aids work in some pacifici (I think) places. She said a I probably knew some of the volunteers. Then she got called away. I had finished sorting anyway so I left without a word.

Well, that explains a lot! That's why my ex has been acting strange lately and hasn't been in college much. She's going overseas to do charity stuff! I never would have predicted that. She's just throwing her education away. Yes it's important to help people. But going all the way to a foreign country in the pacific like Indoensia or Madripoor or North Korea!? Those place can be very dangerous, especially for an attractive young woman. Why does she have to go? Can't locals handle it all? It seems like a huge waste flying someone millions of miles away just to do charity work. Plus I'll miss her if she goes.

I want to speak to her about this. I know things ended badly between us, but I also know I'd be able to talk some sense into her. I texted her but she didn't reply. I want to call her again but she'd probably throw her own phone against a wall when she heard my voice. Maybe I should just go to her home? It's the only way to be sure she'd she me.

Maybe I should just forget her and let her make her own mistakes. But like I said, I care about people a lot.

Perhaps she's going to the south of France?

In any case, unless the church you're going to is Hogwarts School of Religion, I doubt you're in any danger of turning into a hippogriff.
