Spoilers I think I cracked "Calypso"

This isn't about satisfaction. I'm not going to hate the finale if it doesn't address any of this. It's just a mind game.

I'm not going to hate it either. At least not on the surface. I'm just wondering how they will address Calypso without it being just a rushed, hastily tacked-on disappointment. Guess we'll find out tomorrow.

They probably won't address Calypso.

It was made before the Season 2 production split when the long term plan was completely different.

What if Zora is all Dora's dream, kinda like a Benny Russell thing, child explorer, ultimate paramount property crossover episode.

"Boots, ¡ya tuve un sueño increible!"

I wonder if they had this ending in mind when they did the episode. It's still oddly enigmatic and feels like it shouldn't be interrogated because it may fall apart if you nitpick it though.

I was 100% opposed to tying Calypso in to the end of the series, but this, unfortunately, was the worst possible way to do it.

It's basically the Trek equivalent of "a wizard did it." Kovich says it has to happen, and so it does. Didn't need to be said, IMHO. And Kovich knowing Craft by name just makes it worse, as it implies their fleeting encounter has to happen because...I dunno. Certainly the two of them together don't amount to much.

Well, that was stupid. So instead of Zora and Craft accidentally finding each other as what was presented in Calypso, she now knows about him 1,000 years beforehand because…timey wimey reasons? And she doesn't tell him she knows him, which changes the entire context of their meeting. I knew these idiot writers were going to make some kind of unnecessary retcon to that great Short Trek instead of just leaving it be, but this was just dumb.

Perhaps Craft is a distant descendant of Book & Michael? There were a number of comparisons being made between Book & Craft. I'm sure we'll never find out, unless they make some canon novels or comics.

Yeah, it's nonsense because that story doesn't have an actual ending and I imagine they don't actually have anything fleshed out to explain why it had to be Discovery, why it had to be 1000 years in advance, and why Craft was important.

I'm sure someone already has the novelization or comic book ready to go to sell to people though. I'm also sure it probably won't make much sense.

I doubt it as well, since it was just hastily tacked-on nonsense that they came up with at the last minute when they found out their show was being cancelled.
