I Quit

FL, the basic message is that men have the "relationship" power and women have the "sexual" power. Not always true, but in general it is.

Not that women will put up with sex for a relationship...we like sex too!!!

 Guys (and girl), it was just a joke. :D

Now, I do agree that there are women out there who are flat out dead where sexual activity (and/or experience) is concerned. But there are men like that, as well. In fact, I know guys who frequently argue with their partner since she wants more sex then he does. It happens more often then you might think. A women's mojo is just as large as that of a man.

And yes, there is nothing worse then a dead fish. "I'm lying down here, you just do what you want". Ugh; get your big ass away from my kitchen table and take a cab home, girl.

2-3 packs? That's not too far out there.

Well, sounds to me like someone who smokes 2-3 packs a day is better off smoking real tobacco. Not only is it much cheaper, you'll also get more nicotine and less tar. Especially relative to the amount of cigarettes someone would smoke. Of course it's better for anyone to simply quit smoking, but relative to each other, tabacco is more healthy then cigarettes, since you need to smoke a lot more cigarettes to get the same amount of nicotine. To say nothing of "light" cigarettes; they aren't lighter by nature, you know; a chemical bath is responsible for that (and thus, more crap in your lungs).

I stopped smoking three months ago and its been going well. I have a couple of times when drunk asked people for a drag of their cig, which it a bit stupid, bit its only been one drag and I've hated it each time which is weird because it hasnt really been that long.

Keep going man! Are you on the patch, gum or just quit cold turkey? A former co worker of mine went on the patch and was insufferable!

You don't stop everything to smoke. That's one of the things that make it so hard. You smoke while you do everything.

Exactly.

By the time I'd eaten, dressed and driven to work in the morning I'd have smoked five or six cigarettes.

Two or three a couple of times a day on breaks, maybe four at lunch. By the time I got home in the evening I'd generally wiped out a pack - and that was on a working day, when I couldn't smoke at my desk.

Exercise is a hundred times more enjoyable than a cigarette, in my experience. It is, however, a lot of work. OTOH, a cigarette is a fairly effortless jolt to the system - gets the heart rate up, delivers a nice epinephrine rush. We do pay for it, eventually (you'll see an awful lot of fat middle-aged smokers, the worst of both worlds), but it's kind of like having a credit card with a low introductory rate and low monthly minimum. ;)

Well at least you're nice enough to send them in cab! I usually just got thrown out with a bus token. True, True there are plenty of men out there who not only have a low sex drive (but there really are waaaaaay more women) but they are also very vanilla. Not that there is anything wrong with that....so once again that's why it's so very important to be on the same "sexual page" early on in the relationship.

Cold turkey. The 3 day biggie is breaking the nic addiction, which is out of your system in 3-5 days. Why people continue to put nic into their systems after quitting smoking is beyond me. The life-habit part is the lingering part. And putting more nic into my system while doing that is stupid.

I mean, let's say you do the 12 week patch plan.

You spend 3 months breaking the life habit, but you're still getting nic, then you have to give up the nic, STILL go through the nic withdrawl, just three months down the road.

I'd rather just go through a few days of hell then drag it out over months.

It's true. Chicks dig smokers.

Actually, I figured if I was going to quit I was going to need all the luck in the world to do it so why not throw a bunch of 7s into the mix?

Not ALL chicks dig smokers! I sure don't. But I'm not a smoker myself. My parents smoked forever. Mom quit cold turkey in 2007 when she was going into congestive heart failure and hasn't picked up a cig since. Dad picked up cigs again after I turned 21 but quit over six months or so ago because he couldn't afford the price of them. It's outrageous the cost of cigs nowadays from those damn tax laws here in US! I'm glad I've never even picked one up.

I was under the impression that ThankQ is American.

:guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw:

And just what are you laughing at, young lady?

Who the hell are you callin a lady?

Where did that quote go about blowing a fag? Damn censors!

NO SMOK--- hey pass that over here man... :shifty:

Yo! Cheney! Put down the buckshot and pick up the bong!

Wooow man... you know what would be funny maaan... we should take these old GI Joe toy sketches to the UN and tell them Iraq is building 'em and get permission to invade wouldn't that be WILD maaaaan? :shifty:

It would, but it's already been done, man. The government just covers it up.

How about passing that bong over here? :shifty:

Ain't that the truth. No matter how much people would like to see their personality being more important then their sexuality, if an element completely fails, usually, all elements fail. Being compatible enough sexually is just as important as being compatible enough regarding your personalities, or your habits, or anything else that can prove become a problematic clash in a relationship.

Cold turkey.

I feel with you; cold turkey sucks. But it is the best way to break an addiction. Hope you'll succeed.

ThankQ - sounds like you really want to quit, so I wish you all the very best of luck! Stick with it.

This. Glad you're quitting man, and best of luck with it.

Amen. I've had friends over the years realized that rolling your own cigs was a hell of a lot cheaper than buying premade (even generic) ones. Enough papers and tobacco to roll a carton was about $9 or so. After a month or two, they'd realize that by rolling their own, they weren't getting the additives and they'd be even more sold on it.
