I'm telling all of you that you haven't seen Empire until you have seen Riff Tracks commentary of the film, it is awesomely funny!

Trek was so horrible, it should have been rebooted in 1967. That would have spared us of all the lameness we had to endure until JJ Abrams came and saved us all. Now we have a cool and fresh Star Trek back, and our lives have meaning again.
Yes, thanks to Trek XI I now have space on my shelves again because I threw away all of my old Trek DVDs, books and assorted memorabilia. It must have been real shitty being a Trekker then, huh?
Yes. Yes it was. I really thought Trek was over for me. I could have never guessed that a reboot would bring me back, but here I am.

I think Empire Strikes Back is the best SW film ever why do you not like that it has everything.
Well I like the youngness in Abram's Trek do you like the way the characters act
They rebooted it a year or so before that. Dropped a few characters, changed some actors and upgraded the sets.It must have been real shitty being a Trekker then, huh?

I could care less about the director's attitude, or personality. I care about the finished product, which I found entertaining, and was pleased that it led to a resurgent interest in what was a dead franchise.
He can be a dick. BFD. Some say Shatner is a dick. I still will pay money to watch him act.

Hell Gene Roddenbery himself basically insulted Trek fans when he said "If I listened to the fans Star Trek would be s@#t." And I'm still willing to watch it.
Abrams likes SW? Fine. Go ask Lucas if you can make a SW movie then. Don't go saying Trek has to be more like Wars.

Because, of course, Star Trek was doing oh-so-well prior to 2009, what with its having a long-running and highly-rated and critically-acclaimed TV series on the air and the last movie having been such a big hit.
Oh wait.
Sorry, folks, but if Star Trek was going to survive onscreen, it needed to change. Evolution -- adapt or go extinct.

Doesn't mean it had to change into a empty, childish, meaningless pile of shit. You can also choose to change into something deeper and grander.

You're trying too hard.
They tried to create something that appeared like it was "grander" and "deeper" with Star Trek once. And how did that work out for "The Motion Picture?" Not that great. You can also choose to change into something deeper and grander.
I'll start with the one about a dude who leaves his home behind to pursue his destiny at the behest of some old dude who knew his father whilst the bad guys blow up planets.
