Here's mine:

Charades
Subspace Rhapsody
Hegemony
The Broken Circle
Among the Lotus Eaters
Ad Astra per Aspera
Under the Cloak of War

Here's mine:

Lost in Translation
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow
Those Old Scientists
Charades
Subspace Rhapsody
Hegemony
The Broken Circle
Among the Lotus Eaters
Under the Cloak of War

1. Ad Astra per Aspera 10/10 (best episode of the series thus far IMO , )

2 Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow 9/10 ( like Voyager's Futreres End but better)

3. Hegemony 9/10 ,(Chilling, suspenseful, and Scotty to boot)

4. Subspace Rhapsody 8/10 ,( I like musicals so sue me)

5 .Under the Cloak of War 8/10. (Well acted, controversial and raw. Shades of DS9)

6.Those Old Scientists 8/10 (Fun episode despite not liking LD. The trek geek in me took over. A highly rated guilty pleasure )

7. Lost in Translation 7/10 ( Creepy, decent, I like Uhura allot in SNW)

8. Among the Lotus Eaters 7/10 (classic Trek premise and moral at the end,)

9. Charades 7/10 (FUN, good character moments)

10. The Broken Circle 7/10 (decent, but episode doesn't stand out too much for me)

It was a strong season . Significantly beter than season 1. Actors where way more comfortable with their roles and writing was better IMO . Season one had allot of of decent but" Safe" Star Trek. Season 2 had a mixture of that *and* had more outside the box concepts which I thought hit more often than missed.

10. Under the Cloak of War

Under the Cloak of War is the only one I think I can say didn't really work for me, all the others were pretty great. It's hard to rank them against one other though, there's a lot about Charades or Among the Lotus Eaters that I still really like a lot. It's just such a pretty show to watch, and I really vibe with it the most of streaming era live actions.

Season 2 was really good! If I remember correctly, I gave three episodes a 10, which is pretty rare for me. All the others were pretty good too.

I enjoyed the first season, but like the 2nd even more. The 1st season had several real clunkers, which the current season avoided.

Going forward, I hope to see more Pike and more strange new worlds. I know that ST doesn't actually explore strange new worlds as often as it we'd like to remember, but hoping that SNW does more of it.

1. Subspace Rhapsody. I'm a musical theater guy. [9.5]
2. Ad Astra per Aspera [9]
3. Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow [9]
4. Those Old Scientists [8.5]
5. Hegemony [8.5]
6. Lost in Translation [7.5]
7. Among the Lotus Eaters [7]
8. Broken Circle [6.5]
9. Under the Cloak of War [pending]
10. Charades. [pending]

I’d say 8/10 of the season overall…

1. Those Old Scientists
2. Ad Astra per Aspera
3. Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow
4. Lost in Translation
5. Among the Lotus Eaters
6. Hegemony
7. Subspace Rhapsody
8. Under the Cloak of War
9. The Broken Circle
10. Charades

I'd give 9,5 to the 2nd season in general.

Among the Lotus Eaters, Those Old Scientists, Subspace Rhapsody are my top 3.
I love that they try something new in the storytelling. Also love that the writers do their work thoroughly and use actual scientific research.

I would be happy to see more Pike&Una collaboration. Every of them have chemistry with any other character, but together they make an incomparable duo :adore:
More strange new worlds would be appreciated too.

Surprisingly, I have no negative emotions about the final cliffhanger. It worked good on me. Like, "we do not say goodbye yet!".

Under the Cloak of War (9)
Subspace Rhapsody (9)
Hegemony (8)
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow (8)
Those Old Scientists (8)
Lost in Translation (8)
Ad Astra per Aspera (8)
Among the Lotus Eaters (7)
Charades (7)
The Broken Circle (7)

Number ratings are difficult for me to come up with, but this is what I gave them on my initial watch. Overall I thought it was a very good season with only a few episodes that didn't work for me.

My biggest disappointment was Among the Lotus Eaters. I really liked the concept and the planetside story but the scenes on the ship didn't seem to flow well. Still an interesting episode, and brings up some interesting ideas of how our memories define us. It would have been nice to have Ortegas in the landing party, but I wonder if they weren't cutting back on her scenes while she was working through her loss.

On the other hand, Subspace Rhapsody was a very pleasant surprise! I'm not normally a fan of musicals, but I was willing to see what the writers had come up with. I went into it pretty much neutral, and it turned out to be one of my favorites. There are a few songs that are going to be stuck in my head from that one.

I really like how well the crew has gelled with me, I haven't liked this many characters on a show since DS9. They better rescue all of them next season though, I'm still annoyed about Hemmer!

Hasn't crept into this thread yet but there seems to be a narrative out there that Season 2 was a significant drop from Season 1. I just don't see it and am confused by it. Glad to see I'm not alone. Characters had more chemistry with each other this season and the storylines were more interesting. To me its the other way around,. Season 2 definitely an improvement to season 1.

I was impressed with this season. My ratings are probably different from when I originally rated it, but based on how I feel today:

The Broken Circle (7)
Ad Astra Per Aspera (9)
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow (8) - I want to rewatch this episode because it became significant as the season went on and I graded it lower originally)
Among the Lotus Eaters (4) - My least favorite episode of the season
Charades (8) - Always happy to see T'Pring again
Lost in Translation (6)
Those Old Scientists (9) - This episode was better than it had any right to be
Under the Cloak of War (8) - Very DS9 Vibe
Subspace Rhapsody (9) - They took a risk and it paid off
Hegemony (7) - It's going to be a long time to see how this is resolved

How would I rate the season? Hard to say if it was much better or worse than season 1 overall. Maybe season 1 gets a 9.5 and 2 gets a 9.0

S2 Episodes ranked best to worst ...

Under the Cloak of War
Hegemony
Lost in Translation
Among the Lotus Eaters
Ad Astra per Aspera
Charades
The Broken Circle
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow
Subspace Rhapsody
Those Old Scientists

And compared to other Trek series...

TOS 9.75
SNW 9.5
TNG 7
ENT 6
TAS 5.5
DS9 5.0
VOY 4.0
DIS 3.0
PIC 2.0
LD 1.0 (it gets a point for being Star Trek, but that's about all!)

Those Old Scientists
Lost in Translation
The Broken Circle
And then I gave everything else an 8 I believe.

Better than first season. Best episode; the season finale followed by LD crossover.

Season 2 felt like it was a lot more about the crews personal issues and less about the strange new worlds.
Myself and a number of people I have seen comment on SNW liked the show because it was using the planet of the week formula which was not as prevalent in season 2.
Also 3 episodes of Kirk really put me off. I have had more than enough nostalgia for a few years after watching that awful Picard finale.

I guess being a big DS9 fan, I didn't mind more character drama and a someehat lessened "strange new world of a week" shift. Will agree to disagree on the Picard finale. Me on all my acquaintances who watch Trek quite enjoyed it. I also disagree nostalgia being a dirty word these days. Old times and reminiscing actually has verisimilitude for me as it happens in my real life . It's part of the human condition. I *do* hang out with lifelong friends and we do talk about/ do stuff together/connect to the past. I may agree with you if all three seasons of Picard were like that but a 10 episode single season to explore that is fine.

Pretty damn good run if you ask me. Honestly, if you take the first 20 episodes of SNW and compare them to the first 20ish of any other live action show, you'd be pretty hard-pressed to find a more entertaining and consistent batch of Trek stories.

I'm really bummed that it will likely be over 2 years before we see this crew again. They've done a wonderful job so far. I hope they don't lose their momentum. This is a show that really deserves an audience and to find it's success.
