How do you feel about Season Seven?

It sucked.

High production values, but the ratio of turkeys to passable stories was sky-high and there were *no* really stellar ones. Easily the worst season of the show.

Which surprised the hell out of me, as I'd expected Ken Biller to really lift things back up

Ah, yes. Back in those days, you either thought Biller was going to go hell-for-leather and make VOY S7 a belated classic that redeemed all the series faults... or you counted him as the third 'B' - B&B&B, Berman & Braga & Biller, the satanic forces of evil that ruined the show. Fond memories...

Anyway, I never thought either - I figured we'd get more of the same, and that's what we got. And then there was a blood-curling shriek so horrific the world will never hear its likes again... when J/C and D/7 fans saw C/7 unfolding. That never bothered me either.

some good episodes, but overall plagued by lack of proper attention cause of Enterprise, and a burned out writing staff.

I have to agree with the poster who wrote that he/she expected more higher-concept episodes than we actually got. While I don't dislike S7 especially, I do remember wanting much more excitement, knowing the show was soon to sunset.

I'd pretty much given up on Voyager by then---though I returned, to my eternal regret, for "Endgame."

Eventually, of course, since crappy or OK Trek is better than no Trek, I saw 'em all. Like Hirogen Alpha, though, I'd be hard pressed to recall any ep of which I hadn't just been reminded in this thread.

It's fairly average overall. It is better than TNG's 7th season though.

Season Seven had plenty of good episodes, but that wasn't its's problem, it failed to make any real progress on the year before IMO, sure we get the wedding and the klingon baby but not alot else, the c/7 thing was just pulled out of thin air to give Chakotay a reason to be on the show, neelix was all but tossed of the ship.

And Endgame was awful IMO, What happened to the Marquis? the doctor? Seven and Icheb?

Now sure the books touched on it but they were even worse than endgame.

The books did touch on it.

The Maquis were all pardoned, and Chakotay & Torres were both bumped up a rank, as well as pretty much everyone else in the crew (Janeway became an admiral, Tuvok a full commander, Paris a lt cmdr & Harry to lt).

The Doctor & Seven both wound up joinin' a Federation think tank. And Seven broke up with Chakotay while reconnectin' with her aunt.

And Icheb joined Starfleet Academy, where Tuvok was one of his instructors.

I really enjoyed Season Seven - Shattered was fun (and Seska & Chaotica had cameos), The Void was a great Trek episode, Workforce, Endgame, I could go on. I sometimes get the impression that people come here who don't like Voyager in the first place!

Season really dissapointed me, there was some good episodes i.e shattered, I thought endgame was a bit rushed, and maybe they should of spreaded it out over 3 or 4 episodes, the whole C/7 was very unrealistic to me, very rushed and forced

It's weird - within Trek circles, Endgame gets a lot of flack for not providing enough closure. But in the intervening years the concept of 'closure' has become so passe that a mainstream TV finale needs to display near-merciless ambiguity in order to garner critical acclaim.

So regardless of whether Trek fans are willing to accept it, Endgame was ahead of its time.
