It looked like the players didn't really know what the hell was going on in the shootout competition.

The goalies should have stayed in the crease to allow a bit more freedom. Nabokov was out 30 feet every shot... kinda' killed it for the players who at least tried to spice things up.

Marian Gaborik's second shot reminded me of the movie The Mighty Ducks (No, I am not admitting to ever having watched those movies) when he tried snowing the goalie.

Robbie Schremp would have won that thing with his eyes closed.

Did anyone watch the All Star Game? I really enjoyed it today. Nabokov was the man making two great saves, especially after watching Osgood look so bad. The third period was exciting, but what I really liked was the Mic'd up Goalies. I like Legace and DiPietro now for volunteering to do that and they were really funny. It made for a really entertaining afternoon.

I enjoyed listening to the live interviews with the goalies too. I thought it was funny that the announcers wouldn't stop talking to Tim Thomas when the puck was in the Eastern Conference's end of the rink. I was expecting him to give up a goal or three then for sure. (Well, he pretty much did, but not while they were interviewing him.)

The All Star game is fun, but it's time we all got back to work.

Case in point: I've walked a long road learning to like Teemu Selanne, and I'm not sure what to make of his decision to come back for the second half of a season. One the one hand, he stays out and the Ducks are that much further from another Cup (this is good). One the other hand, it doesn't really testify to his committment to his teammates (which is bad - then again, maybe he was talked into coming back, which would be a sign of committment to his teammates).

As to my own earlier question, the Canucks are back tonight - here's hoping for a solid second half for the boys in ... whatever those colors are.

The 'Nucks sucked tonight (31/01/08)they aways seem to find away to disapoint long time fans like me.
they have to do something now, make trades, firesomeone etc.
If I could have an exorcism preformed on that franchise I would I truly think they are cursed.

It's looking frustrating right now, I agree. Feb 26th ... I'd expect something big there, except that even since the Luongo trade Nonis has been reluctant to do anything at all. Naslund has a no-trade clause, I think, and they'll never move the twins (but imagine what they'd be worth )

I was watching the Rangers/Canadians game and that was some hard hitting excitement. I was really hoping for an overtime to extend the game, but what I saw it was fun.

I listened to that game on the radio. I don't think too many Habs fans are too happy with their team tonight. I myself thought it was exciting, but I don;t have strong feelings about either team.

I was at the Flames/Oil game last night: very entertaining game. It is good to see Owen Nolan picking thingsup this late. I think he'll hit 20 this season, and for a million and change (IIRC), that is quite the bargain.

Every Battle of Alberta match I've seen this year has been better than I can remember them being in several seasons past.

Colorado continues to be in the thick of it even fighting through their injuries, hanging 6 on Vancouver last night

that was unbelievable

in our beer league, a guy got cut by a skate like that one night. The paramedics said if it were a quarter inch to the left, he might have died.
