A less positive spin on that is that they threw everything against the wall to see what would stick...which was definitely how the show was feeling for me by Season 3.

I liked S2-3 a lot but my big complaint was that they finally all meet at the end of S1... and then all just go their separate ways again. I wanted to see them living and working together as a super team. Interacting with each other. Helping each other.
I thought constant reset buttons and nerfing the characters' powers were the hallmarks of the series![]()

In preparation for the return I've been watching Season Three Villains. I still think this was the high point of the series. We actually had a strong competent central villain with a bunch of lackey bad guys. Daphne was a great addition to the cast. The only bits that were a little silly were Sylar becoming a good guy and Hiro becoming a ten year old, but at least it changes things up a little.
Why didn't people like the Villains arc?
