Heroes Season 2

**NO SPOILERS, PLEASE**

Due to life happening, I missed the beginning of season two when it aired and didn't want to get confused, so I haven't seen anything since the last episode of season one - religiously avoiding all spoilers and suppositions.

Until now. For Christmas, I got season one and two and since the hubby hadn't seen all of season one, we watched that one first.

Last night, we finally got around to season 2 episode 3.

Long story for such a short question, but, did anyone else think "wondertwins power, activate!"?

just wondering.

You're talking about Maya and whatshisface, right? I think most of us were calling them "Nikki and Paulo" :D (That's Lost S3 if you don't watch)

I do watch Lost and now you've given me a spoiler!!

 That's ok tho. I was wondering how they were going to work that power into some kind of Hero thing.

That's not a spoiler... it's because they were a Hispanic couple introduced into a later season of a popular genre show that became intensely disliked by the fans.

Maya and her brother were kinda annoying. Weird power, not exceptionally likable.

This isn't a spoiler as much as my general impressions of the season, but I'll put it in spoiler code just in case.

Season 2 was weird in that they introduced a bunch of stuff that could have had potential, but they just kind of fizzled out with a whimper. Probably some of the more interesting stuff they did in Season 2 they carried over to 3, so I guess it's important to watch

EDIT: In response to whether or not they're gone by the end of the season:

Watch the episodes :p

My wife and I thought that Season 2 was actually pretty good, if cut a bit short- due to the writer's strike. I was most afraid that they would not actually wrap it up but they did. They left only one or two "threads" hanging by the end of the season/volume but I haven't watched any of season 3 yet so they may have resolved them by now. They shocked the hell out of me with the twist involving the main villian of Season 2 and Hiro continued to be the coolest character on the show and how he "defeated" the main villian was simply brilliant!:techman: (Oops!! I hope that's not too much of a "spoiler")

I am in the minority where I really liked season 2 and thought the story was more interesting than season 1. I also completely blame the writer's strike for some of the (understandable) problems people have with season 2.

Wow. Now, I'm really psyched about watching it.

Can't tonight tho, BSG is on ...

Well, that's where I usually am, in regards to movies and tv shows.

I think I find myself in the minority a lot myself in terms of what movies and tv shows I like to watch. I guess it's because I'm less discerning than some people and/or more accepting of shows for what they are. That's why I rarely go by what the "critics" say about them. If a movie or TV shows seems interesting to me I'll watch it regardless of what the critics say. Occasionally, they turn out to be right in their assessments but not always and if I only watched the movies that the "critics" liked then I probably wouldn't have watched much at all. After all, critics ARE paid to be "CRITIC(al)!

Season Two was going to have been made up of three Chapters: Generations, Exodus and Villains. Villains was held over for S3 (not so much a spoiler, just that's the name of the next chapter, do with it as you will) and Exodus was simply cut because of the writer's strike.

I liked the season, but it did suffer from some annoyingly pointless introductions and embarrassing character assassinations. Heroes is one of those shows that I sort of watch it for the week and remember some points from the previous episodes. If it clashes/contradicts with something in a previous season I've usually forgotten it!

I would be interested to hear your thoughts on the whole season once you've seen it Jenee. Heroes is still one of my favourite shows, despite the criticism it's received from people from the net and on this board.

I enjoyed S2. The only problem I had was
amnesiac Peter and the Nikki-Paulo-powerless Sylar stories. And repeating the "future vision of the apocalypse" cliche. The rest was great. Kristin Bell was a great new character. Bob was cool. The Kensei story was really interesting. Learning about the founding fathers of Primatech was cool, as was the mystery of who was killing them.
.

I actually just rewatched S1 and I think people really look at it with rose-tinted glasses. Nothing really happens in the episodes. The characters hardly ever meet each other. And the middle stretch has some ridiculous fluff in it, like the whole arc of Hiro loosing his powers for no reason and running around with the criminal woman. The finale is a complete and utter disappointment after a season of building up a huge final fight with Sylar.

And I'm also really liking S3 so far, which people apparently hate. More villains, more power fights, great new main villain. Me likee.

Again, I restate, I am in the minority. :p
Sorry, you're crazy. Season 1 was brilliant, while Season 2 was brilliantly mediocre at best. Some of the things they did were just....wow....:wtf::wtf:

I never said I hated season 1 nor found it to be bad. I just think the storyline presented in season 2 was more interesting. Then again, I find stories of stuff that people did in the past coming back to bite them in the ass to be interesting. However, I admit the execution was rushed and sloppy at parts, which I fully blame on the strike.

I too received the 1st and 2nd season of Heroes for Christmas, even though I had never seen an episode. :D I fell in love with the first season. The second season was okay. There's a lot of things that were just WTF?, but overall, not as bad as what people had warned me about.

I've only seen a few episodes of the Villains volumn, and the ones I've seen have been bad. I'm digging Fugitives, though.

I'm about 6 episodes in, so those are big spoilers. I agree with most of your assessments, tho - except, no idea who Kristin Bell is, is she the Irish girl? - and yet another apocalypse looming on the horizon.

So ..., I'm guessing Syler will get his powers back and kill Nikki and Paulo or whatever their names are.

Things I'm most interested in seeing play out:

Matt Parkman's dad.
Peter getting his memories back.
What the fuck is going on with Nathan's face.
What is Angela's power.
If Matt Parkman's dad is the one killing the original 30 - with his mind, who did Ando see throwing Nakamora off the building.
How is Hiro going to fix history.
What happens between Clare and Bennet that she just kissing some guy totally unconcerned about her dad lying there dead.
And, like the build up for the end of season 1, does this painting also not come to fruition.
