HBO Max Streaming Service Thread

My first thought was.

Why ?

Pretty easy answer there.

Established entertainment companies want to negate risk and 'original' ideas being given money to be developed are becoming more and more the exception.

The biggest problem with the series is going to be finding enough parents willing to sign their kids up for ten years of abuse and harassment for someone else's views.

Yeah, but the later books should have been a lot shorter. The Phoenix movie was the shortest of the bunch (if we count Hallows as one big movie) for good reason: that book sucks rotten troll toes.

I thought "Goblet of Fire" was the worst novel. It was unnecessarily padded.

While I am not in favor of resurrecting threads, this is my own thread so I figure what the heck. I actually just resubscribed to this service, and yesterday found out it's going back to the HBO Max name. Not sure what WBD is doing, but I'm still interested in a few shows on this service. I'm going to start it eventually, but has anyone seen "The Pitt". It looks like ER meets 24, and I'm intrigued.

HBO still makes quality shows but I feel like now they only make quality shows that come with a brand name. I miss what they were doing just a few years ago when they still had stuff like "Barry" "Succession" "Vice Principals" etc. As good as "The Penguin" was or "House of Dragon." "The Last of US" or the upcoming Harry Potter show. I can't say we needed more "Game of Thrones" or another comic book show or zombie video game show or more Harry Potter. I feel like 'The White Lotus" and "The RIghteous Gemstones" use to be the norm.
