Pretty easy answer there.

Established entertainment companies want to negate risk and 'original' ideas being given money to be developed are becoming more and more the exception.

Don't see what there is to gain (money obviously)I don't see why not. The films were good, but hardly so definitive that the book material never needs to be touched again.
The biggest problem with the series is going to be finding enough parents willing to sign their kids up for ten years of abuse and harassment for someone else's views.
This needs a "super like" button. That will not be a problem.
Yeah, but the later books should have been a lot shorter. The Phoenix movie was the shortest of the bunch (if we count Hallows as one big movie) for good reason: that book sucks rotten troll toes.
The Pitt is actually quite good. A few weeks ago I binged through the whole thing in a couple of days. It actually started life as an E.R. sequel but changed up when they couldn't secure the rights. While I am not in favor of resurrecting threads, this is my own thread so I figure what the heck. I actually just resubscribed to this service, and yesterday found out it's going back to the HBO Max name. Not sure what WBD is doing, but I'm still interested in a few shows on this service. I'm going to start it eventually, but has anyone seen "The Pitt". It looks like ER meets 24, and I'm intrigued.
