Hawaii 5-0 Season FIVE

Again, you realize they got caught and fined in the episode right? What kind of punishment did you expect them to get for cutting down a tree illegally? Ten years in prison?

Fine and 30 days in Jail

I think jail time would have been too harsh. They cut down a tree. They didn't hurt anyone. Plus, Danno was technically an accessory--he didn't cut down the tree, and he wasn't even driving the car. Steve should really be the one taking the fall for this.

I guess this will all be fodder for their next therapy session. That's still my favorite scene from this season. Apparently the actors loved it, too! Alex and Scott were on The Talk and apparently one of them (Alex, I think) pitched that Steve and Danno have a big fight in public and had to go to therapy every week. I would love if the show started that way every week. They're so funny when they fight. Danny gets all incensed and Steve just can't understand why Danny is upset with him.

You thing going to jail for speeding is harsh? Well it happens

Speeding has the potential to hurt someone if you cause an accident. Cutting down a tree, less so.

But anyways, let's please get back on the topic of the show. I don't want to have to give out spamming warnings here, but I will if the off topic posting continues.

Back to Steve and Danno! :)

injustice.

How about watch The Shield, Southland, or Gang Related for a few of many examples of corruption in the LAPD, or LA Confidential, Mulholland Falls, Training Day, Dark Blue, Internal Affairs, Street Kings, or Crash for a few of many film examples.

Don't forget the granddaddy of them all (and one that was based on real life), Serpico.

The 15th episode of the season will have an appearance by Captain Phillips actor Barkhad Abdi. EW has some spoilers about the character he is playing at this link.

EW has a big interview with Peter Lenkov (H50 show runner) about what's to come on the show in 2015. It's chock full of SPOILERS so click at your own risk.

So much goodness here, but I have to say, these two things stood out:

1.
I'm SO glad they learned from their mistake with Catherine and aren't having her be a love interest or joining 5-0. Cath worked best when she was in the Navy. I liked her as Steve's girlfriend but when she joined 5-0 it was just too much. Glad Ellie will be a pal who helps out the team now and then.

2.
Oh man, the idea of Steve and Danno going undercover and living together sounds AWESOME. I wonder if they're going to be posing as a couple or just roommates? Either way, I'm so excited about this episode. And they're going back to therapy! YAY!!!

I'm late to the party, but did anyone catch last week's H5-0 (the one about the neurosurgeon getting shot)? I loved it! I thought the case was really interesting, and it was fun to see Gregory Itzin playing a major role. Plus Steve and Danno's fight cracked me up big time. And there was a callback to their therapy session from Chin! All in all, great episode. It's a rerun tonight, but then I think the next few weeks are all new episodes.

I haven't seen last Friday's episode but I really liked the one before it with the bioterrorism threat. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!

I heard last Friday's episode doesn't have Danny in it. Maybe I'm biased, but I just don't like the ones without him as much. I think this is the third one he's missed this season. Danny is my favorite character, and I think his banter and concerns make the show feel more grounded. I love when he calls Steve on his crazy antics. I'll get around to the episode eventually, but I hope this is the last one he misses for a while.

He hasn't missed as many as he did last season, but yes, he wasn't in Friday's ep. Greg Grunberg was back as ICE agent Jeff Morrison, and Kono got more time than she usually does in the A-plot, and the B-plot was all about her and Adam, so that was good.

Wow....as far as diversity....this was good.... Kono got the bad guy -- and HER guy. Good episode for her.

And Jerry actually got someone to show him some respect!

I DID miss Scott Caan....but i'm OK missing him for an episode or two, especially if it gives other characters (other than McGarrett) some more air time

Well, the second new episode from now is to feature Danny and Amber. You should enjoy it.

^Yes! I caught last night's episode and really liked it. I admit, I was totally more concerned about Danny and Amber than I was about the arson storyline. I couldn't believe Danny got stabbed! I love that after that happened Amber basically took charge and ran over her ex. That was an awesome moment. But we don't know if he's dead or he survived--I would have liked to know that!

I can't wait for next week's Steve and Danno stakeout. That's going to be great!

There are no words for how much I loved Friday's episode! I think I laughed through most of it. Steve and Danno's banter is my favorite thing about the show so it was fun to get, in Daniel Dae Kim's words "an episode-long cargument." I love that they're still in therapy, too! I think the episode really did a nice job of highlighting why they butt heads--they're so different. Danny just wears his heart on his sleeve and is super emotional, while Steve is pretty old school and stoic.

I thought Daniel Dae Kim did a great job of directing the episode, too. It's nice that H50 let him direct… I remember that was a perk that Star Trek actors used to get and thought it was pretty cool. Jonathan Frakes, Robbie Duncan McNeill and Roxann Dawson direct almost exclusively now--they've really made a second career of it, which is cool.

But who would have thought Steve was a cat guy :)

Do wonder how they manage to find a cat that would stay on Alex O'Loughlin's shoulder long enough for that seen with the local drug dealer. Though looking at the tail going it might have been a tad a pissed by the end and read to get down.

Oh and as for Daniel Dae Kim directing, think it was the Hollywood Report that had an article on it. Appearently he got interesting in the directing side while working on Lost but it was the sort of show they would let rookies direct on but 5-0 gave him his chance.

I never would have pegged him for a cat guy, either! And his reasons for loving cats were so Steve.

And that cat had to do multiple takes, too! Mr. Pickles must be a very chill cat.

I think some shows are more open to it than others. Good to know that H50 is one of them.

This week's episode looks really good. They've been on a good run lately--I've liked all of the most recent episodes. This last one was definitely my favorite though.

This weeks wasn't as good and almost seems like it might have been intended as a two-parter.

We go from seeing the gang getting shot at the helicopter to them confronted Mr crooked government official with a video of $1.3bil of coke going up in smoke and then to Chin's brother-in-law proving the pen is indeed mighter than the sword.
