Have any TrekBBS members been on screen?

A friend of mine was recently cast as "Adoph Hitler" in a movie. I wasn't quite sure how to respond.

"Er, congratulations! You're perfect for the part!"

I made pretty regular television and radio appearances as part of my former job in Iowa, but since I moved last year, I can't recall any situation in which I've been on screen.

Wait, no, I was definitely spotted a few times on the local news in B-roll footage of the Wisconsin Protests earlier this year.

I make Local Access TV a lot due to my job.

I worked with two girls who went on on TV/movies - One was on House of Payne and the other one was in a few films, and on the TV show "The Event" for a couple of episodes. Sure the one who does "The Event" still knows me, but the other one might not. This was back in University.

I just recalled, I answered phones during the pledge drive for my local PBS station. (part of a Doctor Who fan group in the 80s).

Who was the pitcher?

An asshole. Oh, you mean a name. :ouch:
I don't remember. I was filled with blind rage.

Greg Maddux? Tom Glavine? John Smoltz?

Or even John Rocker? He'd probably be the most likely to inspire pure, blind rage. And not even on the field, either.

And I (Mets fan) also hate the Braves. :techman:

As for being onscreen: Closest I ever got was being in a crowd scene in a Yankees video. I'm at about 36 minutes in, sitting ten rows behind home plate.

I've been on the local tv news a time or two, usually during coverages of local parades as I ride for a bicycle shop that usually has a float for the parade.

and no, I'm neither the guy on the roof, nor the one riding the really tall bike. I'm on the Gary Fisher MB.

I guess I was almost in the movie About Schmidt - they were going to use my store for filming the scene where Jack Nicholson's character goes grocery shopping (we are very near where his character lived so it would have been our store that he would go to IRL), but at the last minute they decided to substitute a different store clear across town. Le sigh.

I was in the audience in The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh. Part of it was filmed in the (former) Civic Arena in Pittsburgh in 1979.

Dunno if I was seen, as this was ages ago and I never did see the movie, but the husband and I were part of the crowd.

Let me tell you, waiting between shots is dull. Even for non-entities. Dunno how actors do it.

If I remain at my current job, I will very likely end up in a commercial.

I was also standing next to my best friend as he was randomly being interviewed for some morning news show.

I remember a guy posting on the boards about his appearance in Enterprise. He had a speaking role, but for the life of me I can't seem to find him on Memory Alpha or IMDB . . .
my google fu is weak

My mother and I once sat in the audience of a talk show. Since the topic of the day had something to do with teenagers and my mother happened to be a mother of, yes, teenagers, she and I were seated right next to the aisle where the moderator was to come down at the beginning of the show. All those seats were filled with mothers or fathers so that when the moderator was so inclined, she then could turn either left or right and ask "someone in the audience" about their experience concerning the topic.
She came down the aisle, she stopped right next to us, and my mother and I were trying so hard not to laugh, we were bobbing up and down. The moderator quickly turned the other way.

The vast majority of the populace may disagree, but we became stars that day.

You never know....he could end up the star of a few thousand resubtitled YouTube videos. ;)

I'm pretty sure you're thinking of this guy, and almost as sure that his username here was the same as his character's name on ENT.

Another TrekBBS member still more or less active here has appeared both on ENT and on DS9, as well as in roles in other productions.

Sure. Let's see ... I was in four Christmas specials that aired on KMTV 3 back in the early 90s ... part of our school's choir program.

I was interviewed on channel 7's news program about 9/11 movies (just happened to be at the theater when they were doing the story and got randomly picked).

And I played an alien bartender named B'Kee in the movie Destination: Outer Space (www.dosmovie.com - dvds on sale today, they make great gifts!)
