Has Trek ever done anything holiday-related?

We all know what happened when that other sci-fi franchise whose name begins with Star did a holiday special, which made me wonder: Has Trek ever done anything holiday related at all, even just a short video or something like that?

Well, there's "Catspaw," which was always intended to be a special Halloween episode, first airing in October 1967.

That's probably the closest any Trek show has ever come to doing a holiday episode.

An avuncular fat guy with whiskers who enjoys spending time with children?

Have you considered Voyager?

I did a quick search of Trekcore and I can't find any Earth holidays. I did find one fake holiday for Bajorians mentioned.

Unless we count Captain Picard Day. "Make it so!"

There is the Klingon Day Of Honor, from Voyager. I've often wondered 100 or so years from now, if Earth holidays are a thing of the past.

Christmas is mentioned in both "Dagger of the Mind" (that infamous Christmas party with Helen Noel) and STAR TREK: GENERATIONS (Picard's family Christmas fantasy in the Nexus), but neither of those are really holiday stories.

And wasn't Thanksgiving mentioned in "Charlie X"?

Yes.

Another reference, at least by name: Scotty says "bypassed like a Christmas tree" in The Wrath of Khan.

"Bread and Circuses" might be interpreted as referencing Christmas or Easter, since it mentions "the son of God".

Didn't the galley call Kirk on the intercom to inform him that the fabricated turkey for the dinner had all been replaced with REAL turkey (as Charlie snickers to himself in the background)?

The galley officer actually said "Turkeys", which has led some fans over the years to speculate whether or not they were still alive. I never thought so, but wrapping the line of dialog around my head one way or another, I could see how someone else would.

In "Charlie X," Kirk says that it's Thanksgiving on Earth.

An odd wording given not every country celebrates Thanksgiving, and even the ones that do don't all celebrate it at the same time. In fact, even other countries which do celebrate Thanksgiving in November, do not celebrate at the same time of the month as the US.

Although, I suppose given how Black Friday is now observed in countries that celebrate Thanksgiving in another month or don't even celebrate it at all, I guess it's possible by the 23rd century American Thanksgiving will be observed worldwide.

Maybe it's like "Independence Day" and the whole planet adopted it after we repelled that worldwide alien invasion on the third Thursday in November. :)

"Today we give thanks for our survival, for our very existence. Today we celebrate . . . Thanksgiving!"

That's an Asylum movie waiting to happen..

in which the alien invaders, known as "Gobblers," strangely resemble turkeys . . . .

I swear, the ad campaign practically writes itself.

"This Thanksgiving . . . something is coming for dinner."

And the sequel, of course, would be:

THANKSGIVING 2: THE SECOND HELPING.

Or maybe:

THANKSGIVING 2: BACK FOR SECONDS.

Data's Day mentioned the Hindu Festival of Lights, it's a pretty big religious celebration.

It was about two weeks ago.

Xindi Attack Reference!!!

The Xindi were defeated on Valentine's Day.

Yes, but I was facetiously alluding to the questions that fans periodically ask regarding why there are no Xindi references in TOS.

It's worth noting, I think, that the transcript for "Zero Hour" has a starlog entry by T'Pol on February 14, 2152, but no one mentions Valentine's Day by name at all, not only in that one but also actually in any episode that I'm aware of.
