With respect to the Makee situation, they only did so after they found out she was an agent of the Covenant who killed the entire crew of the UNSC Cruiser. So it wasn't like the UNSC reacted as they did toward her for no reason whatsoever.Well, at least we got something i never expected to see - Spartan on Spartan combat, that was a sight to see ( and proof how hard Spartans are when an unarmored Spartan was not immediately killed when hit by an armored Spartan).
I still am not sure how to feel about a more humanized John 117 and this episode did little to pull me over into the camp. It was well done and makes sense within the show somehow but still - a conditioned combat machine getting a sort of girlfiriend? I don't know but it sure opens up story possibilities beyond Master Chief running rampant on Halo for a full season, that would get boring very fast.
I liked the treatise about humans as a defective race and it was proven directly how they treated Makee at a stage when she basically turned away from the Covenant but was immediately mistreated by humans so she swung back hard and is most likely responsible for the glassing of Reach in the finale.
Finale preview looks bonkers, that will probably redeem/make us forget the Madrigal/Kwan Ha episode.
Any chance you can send me a link to these
Ah grand I'll give them a look.Just search for Halo Cutscene or Halo Story and you'll find tons of videos.
The real Halsey was in Manassas at the end of the episode, so I'm assuming the clone switch was after the crash or near it, and the fake was a dupe for Halsey to escape then. The clone was probably implanted near or even in the escape pod, or prepared while Kai was distracted during the crash. That was a really good finale. Loved the cold open. Halsey's assistant was a dumbass for attacking Kai. And seeing the ship crash and Kai come out alive was a great moment. And I loved the moment where John says "Cortana, I am going to need you know" Cortana was also great with lots of quippy dialogue. The episode felt like "true Halo". You got Master Chief and Silver Team going down to a cool alien location, needing to retrieve an artifact, with lots of shoot'em up action against the Covenant It felt straight out of the video game. I thought they might find HALO in the finale, but it looks like they are leaving that for S2.
I am curious: was Halsey always the clone from ep 1 or did the real Halsey make the switch at some point and if so, when did she make the switch? I am guessing it would have been before she got on board the ship. The real Halsey probably guessed that she might not be able to escape so she sent the clone to the ship.

Honestly, the whining from Halo fanboys is enough to put me off ever getting into the games. And yeah, in my opinion, any show that has actual aliens can’t be generic sci-fi.Underrated show. Lots of whining that it's "generic sci Fi". What's that? There really isn't enough sci Fi on TV to have a generic.
