Guy tries to reconnect with long lost online girlfriend

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. A lot of people spend a lot of time on the Internet trying to connect with old partners or crushes. This guy should have taken a writing course first, though.

Wow. Good to know I'm nowhere near that pathetic. If I want to reconnect with someone I just got ye olde "Hey remember me, Emher from *insert wherever*?" That about covers about as much ground as a first contact should.

Yeah that's about it  I actually love that song but that video reminds that it's actually pretty fucking creepy.

This approach always appeals to the people who are good with written words, but poor and/or shy with spoken words. But it always comes across mega-creepy, no matter how well-intentioned.

It's all in the execution. It can be done in a non-creepy way. Generally, the shorter and briefer on details for the initial contact, the better. But, generally speaking they do come out creepy.

I suspect if someone is pining for a particular person after so long, they probably don't have good people skills, otherwise they'd have met a number new girl/bofriends and forget about the old. This lack of people skills will lead to all sorts of verbal and written awkwardness.

This particularly letter was interesting for it's over-explanation. He sort of realizes that it looks creepy but then tried explaining how it wasn't creepy, and then joked about how it was creepy. All of that made it mega-creepy!
