Green Lantern Series

Aya's artificial body is wearing metallic hot pants. Shows a lot of skin that really isn't skin. I think she was in Razor's head too long.

Also, this week the queen's Lantern outfit has high heels. Why not? With the ring she can fly everywhere. I do wonder where the Lanterns' normal clothes go when they change to their uniforms.

Bruce Timm and his lovely hour-glass figured ladies.

Hal Jordan: "I knew the ring would choose the worthiest person and that person would be one of 3 people I met on this entire planet."

I do wonder where the Lanterns' normal clothes go when they change to their uniforms.

I figure they're converted into the uniforms and back again. Although that wouldn't work with the version of Star Sapphire seen in Justice League: Doom, since the amount of fabric she's wearing when she changes back to Carol is three or four times greater than the amount she's wearing as Star Sapphire.

Surprised he didn't mention how much she looks like his lost love,or he just dosen't see it yet.

Guessing their going to push a Razor/Aya ship(pun intended) too.

Another baddie voiced by Clancy Brown voice....yay. I like him but hearing him takes me out of a show at this point.

So the one guy with Jordan wasn't real, but the one talking to Razor was?

The quesion is how is that new Lantern gonna recharge its ring? And how did he/it have more power to move the asteroid than the ship, Killowag and Jordan combined?

I haven't seen the episode yet, but isn't the ship a massive power battery?

Oh my brain just went somewhere bad.

But far more famous authors have been there first.

KRYTEN enters, carrying a vacuum-cleaner tube.

KRYTEN:
I just thought I'd give your quarters a quick tickle around, sir. I won't take a jiff.

LISTER:
Not now, Kryten - I'm cooking.

KRYTEN attaches the tube to his groin and begins vacuuming.

LISTER:
I didn't know you could do that!

KRYTEN:
(Stopping the vacuum) Oh yes, I can plug a number of add-ons into my groinal socket, allowing me to perform virtually any household task imaginable.

LISTER:
Like what?

KRYTEN:
Oh, you name it: buzz saw, power drill, hedge trimmer ... even an egg whisk.

LISTER:
(Taking the end of the tube, which still is attached to KRYTEN) What, so you just, like, stick the egg whisk attachment on the end and you can, like, whip up a Spanish omelette?

KRYTEN:
I certainly can, sir, but it's amazing how few people are prepared to eat them.
If you can recharge your ring off the little less than androgenic android, where does the Green Lantern place his ring while he swears his oath?

Just saying.

Could that be any worse than putting your entire ring finger in her mouth?

Which is something I just saw one woman doing to another on Harry's Law a couple hours ago.

OH!

This is intended material for children!

Meh?

Yea the second you hear his voice you know he's the bad guy,I think Captain Black on Jackie Chan Adventures was the only time he voiced the good guy,it kind of the same with Kevin Michael Richardson the voice of Kilowog,Panthro on Thundercats,Bulkhead on Transformers Prime and Roadblock on G.I.JOE Renegades who all are the same guy so when you hear his voice you know the charater is a big bruiser.:)

No he was real Mogo just took care of him.:techman:

Mogo as a living planet may have a energy source his ring can tap into more powerful than standard Lantern energy,Its been shown in many comics and cartoons that the GL Rings can use other energy sources than just a Lantern.

I guessed early on that the planet would turn out to be Mogo. It was right after that weird alien shoved Hal off that cliff and the rock started engulfing him and then let him go that I suspected the planet was Mogo.

On the other hand, Richardson also played Joker on The Batman, Mr. Mxyzptlk (as well as B'wana Beast, Luthor, and others) on Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Santa Claus in various cartoons, etc. That deep booming Barry-White-on-steroids voice is certainly one of KMR's greatest assets, but he's an incredibly versatile voice actor with many, many other tools in his kit.

What took me out of this show was actually this shot:

^Yep, that was the moment for me too. Specifically, the fact that the rocks pulled back the moment they touched Hal's ring.

Actually I didn't catch that at the time-- I simply assumed Hal was doing it, but it took a while to get the upper hand. No, the clue for me was the fact that the planet was growing defenses at all.

I'm afraid this show has been a big disappointment, I was hoping something in line with the Geoff Johns series, while this is much... goofier... and I don't like this whole premise of going off into the frontier.

Goofier? Hm. I think it's a very rich, intelligent show, on a par with Bruce Timm's past animated shows. My only complaint, aside from the limitations of 3D animation on a TV budget, is that their grasp of astrophysics is pretty bad. (For instance, since planets move, delaying the asteroid should've caused it to miss the planet completely.) But then, that's pretty much a universal failing in SFTV and comics.

My only complaint are how the GLs are so depowered in some episodes. Kilowag was even having trouble with a guy wielding a staff. He has the ultimate weapon of the universe on his hand and was flying near a blackhole a few episodes beforehand.

I like what they did with Saint Walker and the Reds. And how they introduce elements like Iolande, Mogos, the Spiders etc showing no preference for one era of the mythology unlike YJ.

Was it a large staff, or just a publicist and a girl Friday? (Narf!)

Remember, at the start of this episode they made a point of showing that the effort to deflect the asteroid drained their power rings to critically low levels. That's why Kilowog had trouble.

And keep in mind if the heroes are too powerful, it makes things too easy for them, so limiting their powers makes for a better story. (Remember how limited Superman's powers were in Superman: TAS, at least at the start. Timm has used this principle before.)

I'm not familiar enough with GL mythology to recognize that elements like Iolande and the Spiders came from the comics. I mean, I figured Iolande probably was a comics character, but she wasn't one I remembered seeing in any of the animated adaptations that have been done before.

I'm only vaguely aware of Saint Walker as part of the whole Rainbow Brite Lantern Corps proliferation of recent years. This is the first time I've seen a story featuring him. But I quite liked him here. He was downright charming.

Oh yea he's great he's knowed to have the best Bill Cosby impression in the biz and some of the voices he dose you wouldn't know it's him,my point is he has a certain voice tone that clearly is his trademark for big bruisers like Kilowag.

Actually I think his voice for Kilowog is a bit different from a lot of his tough-guy voices, more gravelly and blue-collar. He does have a recurring theme for such characters, but he has a lot of variations on it, because he's a very good actor.

For instance, since planets move, delaying the asteroid should've caused it to miss the planet completely.

Heh. I was wondering, if the thing was five minutes from impact, why it wasn't already scraping the atmosphere. Or at least a heck of a lot closer than shown.

And the characters' priorities seemed really out of whack throughout the episode. Apart from the asinine "let's blow up the asteroid and REALLY mess up the biosphere", you've got Hal slowly trudging through the jungle trying to make small talk with a guy who may not even be able to talk. Apparently forgetting the urgency of the mission. Six hours is not very long.
