^ I have the opposite problem. I can't seem to get rid of this stupid van I parked there yesterday :S
I was just cruising the gamefaqs.com BBS and it seems a few other people have the same problem as me BUT the real big issue is that a lot of people are having the game freeze up on them. Fortunately I haven't had that, so my bug seems minor in comparison. And it's both PS3 and X360, so it's a console wide problem.
And I STILL can't get online. Beats me how a game can get out the door with these kind of major glitches.

I wonder if they'll patch it and make it worse like they did with Bully? 
Also, anyone else know how long it takes before you can access the other parts of the city?

Well right now their "big fix" is to delete your game and start over. Hey thanks Rockstar. Fortunately I don't have the freezing problem (knock on wood) and I wouldn't want to start over, I'm over 10% complete at this point.
As for my car save problem, I'm being told that I have to turn the car off (by holding, not tapping the triangle button) when I get out of the car. I'm skeptical, but I'll give that a try tonight I guess.

You can vist Algonquin(the middle island) after you do the mission where you meet Playboy X
Turns out my skepticism was well founded. Didn't work.

I love the anti-terrorism chagrin the game has. 
I cuased some havoc in a niehgborhood and one of the pedestrians shouted, "AHH!!!! Terrorists!" and then there's the cops on the bridge who completely own your ass if you try and cross it.

Grand Theft Auto IV is pretty awesome. I love sitting in Roman's apartment and watching the TV.
Did anyone buy the special edition version? You know, the huge one that comes with the SDBox? I *think* it was only available on the 360, but don't quote me on that.
So, anyone getting lost in the big city? Google Maps has the answer!

Ok. Didn't think there would be since X360 is supposed to be the pilot system for this version, but guess I was mistaken. Anyway, I just bought the basic version.
Same here. Don't get me wrong, the safe deposit box and the duffel bag looked kind of cool, but not worth the extra $30 in my opinion.

Yeah. But I've no need for a duffel bag and the SDBox would just be one more useless piece of junk hanging around my place. Just seems like a way to weasel $30 more out of dumb people and teens.
There was also an exclusive soundtrack CD...if you felt the need to get it.
If I ever had a personal definition of "meh"....
One of the things I'm not really feeling about the game so far is actually the soundtrack. Mind you, that could just be that I haven't checked out all the radio stations so far, but certainly the soundtrack isn't nearly as good as say Vice City's.
