Let's cut to what this is really about: You're not going to like Strange New Worlds either.

As far as Production Weekly, it's called Production Weekly for a reason. That means it updates every week. So, DSC Season 5 could start production later in 2022 than is currently known as of this current week. It's a fallacy to assume no news automatically means bad news. It can actually just mean no news.

Obviously it's not going to go into production in February if it hasn't been greenlit yet, because it takes more than two months in order to prep the season from Blank Page to Actual Filming. And it's December right now. We have the Holidays coming up. Nothing serious would happen in the Writer's Room for DSC S5 until at least after New Year's.

And before someone says anything: yes, I know he's a lost cause and talking to him is like talking to a brick wall. I typed the above two paragraphs for anyone who might actually be swayed by him.

Last year the information for Star Trek Discovery season 4 was the production tracking website three months before season 3 aired.

Pro NuTrek YouTubers made a big deal out of that.

Season 5 is happening, whether you like it or not.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a slightly longer gap before Discovery returns to production, now that there are two other live action shows to fit into the schedule.

Picard season 3 is already shot. Only Strange New Worlds is schedule for February next year.

The fourth season is the last chance to taunt people about DSC having a short run. Once you get into the 5-to-7 season range, it's not as fun anymore. Because fans of the show like myself will say, "Yeah, the show had its run, it lived its life." But when it's four seasons or less, it's a different story... So that's why haters of the show will dig in while they still can.

I'd say, "If you don't like it don't watch it, and then it won't matter how long or short it runs", but let's get real here, you're not going to do that. You'll stick with the show to the bitter end. Which, arguably, makes you as dedicated as any of us. Congratulations on being a Dedicated Disco Viewer.

Anthony Pascale (https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Anthony_Pascale), the managing editor for TrekMovie.com, Discovery fan and the opposite of a NuTrek hater, expressed concerns in the recent TrekMovie podcast that there has been no announcement for season 5 and speculated about the end of Discovery.

He and the other podcast host, not the evil YouTubers, said that they had no information about a season 5 production start and that they have no information that even a writer's room is set up.
