Spoilers Game of Thrones Season 6 - Speculation and Spoilers

\More like that is Mels true form. I believe the ruby is a source of power for her.
The ruby is a focus at most. The scene was showing her undressing, including dropping the illusion she keeps up as part of her mystique.

Dani has interacted with the Dothraki since season one. Not including her followers who stayed with her after Drogo died.

Did she? off the top of my head she didn't have contact in the show with Dothraki since Drogo died and his Khalassar disbanded. She moved to Yunka, got her replacement army with the Unsullied and then moved to take Mereen where she was for the past 2 or 3 seasons.

Fortunately for her she could name drop Khal Drogo's name which spared her from an immediate horrible fate (we all know that Dothraki are not very nice people to their slaves and those who they capture) but i said it in the season 6 discussion thread i think it won't come to her becoming a Dothraki version of a nun when in the trailers we have seen Drogon flying over the Dothraki and Daario/Jorah hot on her trail that's very easily trackable.

Sorry. That is meant to say "hasn't".

Ugh. Now I don't get to see the rest of it. No way in hell am I paying $18.50 a month just to see Game of Thrones. Guess I'll just read the synopses and wait for the DVD a year from now.
*cough* watch it on the internet *cough*

And if you have multiple platforms you can use that promotion for each of them. One free month through Google Play, one free month through iTunes, etc.

I liked this season's opener, it set a good bit in motion (be wary of name misspellings).

Arya's pretty much screwed unless the Faceless Men have pity on her, she's a goner. If this isn't the complacency that she needed, nothing will straighten her out.

Her sister Sansa is finally having things go her way (if the pneumonia doesn't kill her). Brianne has always been a favorite and I almost got teary-eyed when she knelt, and she's a tough bugger taking out all of those soldiers. I have a feeling Theon's days around numbered. He doesn't fit well in the Sansa, Brianne, Podrick group.

I thought Jon would be up by the end of the episode but I still don't think he's dead. The crow wing shaped blood (that Davos confirmed was weird) feels like foreshadowing. Hopefully the Wildlings will take out the Night's Watch, but knowing how the Game of Thrones goes, I wouldn't be surprised if they kill that crow (whats-his-face) and laugh at the Crows as they continue to rape and pillage. Also, I feel bad (even more) for Stanis now, he had sex with the Red Woman. :barf: That's what that cheater gets.

Then there's the Lanisters. The Tyrells are going to break their alliance any day now and without them, the city is going to go back to their rebellious state. I just hope Jamie doesn't tell Cerci about the wildfire stores. Shed use it on the city (and here I thought Dynaris and her dragons would set it off in the series finale).

Speaking of the Mother of dragons, I expect for her Dragon to save her but I don't see why they didn't kill her. I though they talked about what will happen if a horde found her (death and the taking of dragons).

So...interesting retcon with Balon Greyjoy's fate. I really wish they had thrown in an extra scene one or two seasons ago, showing him getting blown off the rope bridge by a mysterious gust of wind as opposed to this. It kind of dulled Mel's & Stannis' leech-burning scene. A minor thing in the grand scheme, I know, but still a bit forced, and wouldn't have really impacted how things are playing out now, since it seems that most people don't care much about the Ironborn anyway.

REALLY glad they're starting to embrace the magical energy that's re-emerging and strengthening in this world (as it should be). Bran's Tree-Net, the Children of the Forest, Mel's efforts with Jon, etc. REALLY wondering if they're going to steer his story to be like Lady Stoneheart's and make him a cold, efficient and ruthless killing machine. I guess it all depends how long he was dead.

And we're now finally starting to get to see the events that unfolded which caused Robert's Rebellion to occur in the first place. SO loving where this season has been going so far.

I get the impression that the show-runners may have had problems in the past two seasons by trying to tie them too closely to the latter two books, which were generally plot-less travelogues without much substance. Now that they're treading into unpublished country, they have more freedom to tell the story they want to tell, basing their plots on basic outlines provided by GRRM, instead of being wrapped around the axle trying to reconcile their threads with already-established print-canon. I really think they're firing on all cylinders this season.

I don't see how this season could be completely off the rails. Surely Martin has already written the rough draft of the next book at this point, he's just editing and rewriting it over and over. Even if he didn't finish the first draft he must have an extensive outline.

That is putting it mildly. I managed to get through "A Feast For Crows" but after several attempts at starting "A Dance With Dragons" I just couldn't get into it. I finally decided to download the audio book and I am slowly listening to it as I walk to and from work every day. Even then it is hard to get into sometimes. He just goes off on these long meandering tangents that really don't do anything to move the story forward.

I remember reading the introduction to "A Feast For Crows" where Martin explains how he split the book into two because he felt the cuts would need to be too deep. After trying to make it through his most recent book I really wish his editors had made him make those cuts. I can only assume his publishers were so desperate to get a book out of him that they just agreed to it.

Anyways, back to the show, I am liking what I see so far. It will be interesting to see where they go with Jon Snow. I'm only about halfway through "A Dance With Dragons". How closely are they following Jon's story at this point?

Why? It's not much different than him having had an affair with someone wearing a wig/having dyed hair, fake breasts, a nose job, and a ton of make-up to hide their true appearance.

I think it's meant to be the Tower of Joy (one of the attackers is a dead ringer for a younger Ned Stark) but I note that the men guarding it are wearing Targarean armour rather than Kings Guard White cloaks, as per the books.

I paid attention to Jamie's KG armor last episode and the emblem on his breastplate looks like something made out of antlers. That got me thinking that the KG armor must reflect the king they serve, at least as far as the show is concerned. If that is the case, then Hightower, Dayne, and and Whent could well be wearing Targ emblems.
