As someone who doesn't give a shit about the books, I don't want Jon to come back to life - as soon as you do that, you kill the tension of what could happen to any major character. Leaving Jon dead is far more powerful to people like me who just watch a TV series.
But Eric Dondarrion came back even in the TV series. So there is a precedence for bringing people back.
I have no idea who that is? Was that a major character?
I think it was season 3 when Arya and The Hound were having their road trip and met this Warband led by Dondarrion. The Hound and him fought with Dondarion wielding a flaming sword but still the Hound defeated him and dealt him a fatal blow but Thoros of Myr healed/resurrected him ( for the 6th time i believe).
They'll probably dump the unused Lady Ironheart storyline on Jon... with a bit of tweaking. He's not dead. There's too much written about the bloodline of Jon, who the mother was etc to let it go now. His death in the books isn't very final.
Does anyone give two shits about the King's Landing storylines anymore? All the interesting characters are elsewhere on Westeros. Same for Dany. Wish one of the dragons would just devour her.
Concerning Jon returning as an undead.. that's actually not a bad idea and could prove very interesting though how they would explain him having free will and not be a puppet of the White Walkers could prove very difficult.
I'm still putting my money on Melisandre but i guess we will find out soon enough when filming starts, as has been said it'll be impossible to hide Kit for the entire filming run. At least one of the crew will spill it despite the NDA they may have to sign.
Concerning King's Landing, yeah it became boring. Tyrion gone, Tywin gone, little shit Joffrey gone leaving only the very few instances of Margaery and Cersei insulting each other through smiles and the Faith Militant storyline.
However i really like Dany even if she came off monumentally stupid in trying to impose her humanistic views in Mereen and creating more problems than solving them. Unintentionally that may be due to her young ago, in show she have barely reached 20 yet has to rule multiple cities without any good political advisors.
Now she has Tyrion and Varys which should be the absolute political dream team any ruler should have.
Speaking of Varys.. could it be that he's one of the very few good guys? Doing things because he believes that ultimately it will be for the best of everybody? He sure comes off like this in the show but this being GoT i am hesitant to declare anyone a good guy, especially a Spy Master
Dany and the Dothraki should get very interesting, i have no idea how that will play out since there is no Khal she could sleep with and expect the same result. Does she have a reputation amongst the Dothraki and will they follow her giving her the largest army on the planet or will something else happen?
