Apparently GRRM told D&D about Shireen's end before the episode. So maybe that will quell book purists. I know a lot of people are ready to burn D&D at the stake for what they did to Shireen, and that Sansa/Jeyne pool thing still has people rustled.

Its getting rare these days for me to be moved to tears by a tv show. I was already tearing at Shireen's scene... by the time we reached Drogon swooping off from the arena, I was bawling and I didn't know if it was for sorrow or triumph.

I had to think about who you were it for a moment. I believe Gendry is working as a smith somewhere.


In the books (especially Feast of Crows and Dance With Dragons) characters such as Gendry, Sansa, Littlefinger, Bran, Rickon, Arya, Asha/Yara etc are pretty much MIA. I don't even think Sansa and Bran showed up in a Dance With Dragons.

Hopefully Winds of Winter turns things around.

Well there goes all sympathy I had for Stannis. ut to be fair Shireen's death was telegraphed from a mile away, remember that "Princess Shireen of House Baratheon scene earlier this season?
Not sure what I should make of Selyse relenting a the last minute and begging for her daughter's life. She was in cahoots with Mellisandre to sacrifice her daughter.
On one hand it is a nice sort of redemption for her character.
On the other hand having her react like that while keeping Stannis stoic just seems to follow that trend of the TV show trying to whitewash some of the female characters (like Cersei) Martin's ladies are awesome as they are they don't need to be idealized.

The Dorne arc ended strangely.

A calm, rational leader settled down the situation without violence.

That's a first for GoT.

At first I thought he was going to be on that boat that pulled up by Arya. But in reality it seems like his character is just one of several that we may not expect to see again.

It kinda makes me wonder if Jaqen knew that Meryn Trant would be arriving there and if that's all a test.

The Dorne arc ended strangely.

The whole Dorne arc was just weird and pointless. Not that it wasn't weird and pointless in the books as well, but you are left with the feeling that nothing was really accomplished, nothing has changed and everybody is forgiven rather easily.

Though Myrcella and Thrystane, apparently, will return to the capital with Jaime, that will be interesting to see.

I'm curious whether Jamie will return to King's Landing before the end of the season and before however the religious fundamentalist arc resolves. Will he go on a rampage to free his sister or will he be too late?

This is also an issue of 'What the hell did Cersei expect'. Why did she go into their prison on her own without guards? Was she so convinced of her own Tiwyn-ness that she couldn't do the basic math of "Organization that imprisons sinful people + Woman known to be incestuous = Imprisoned woman"?

That man Arya saw was Merin Trent, right? I didn't recognize him but it's the only member of her list that it would make sense for it to be. And did they make him a pedophile just to make him more despicable or are they going to have Arya be sent in as a prostitute so she can make like O-ren Ishii?

Ironically, I felt this was his strongest episode this season. Finally, he was doing something other than sitting around.

JORAH THE ANDAL BABY!

Damn that was some fine tension between Jorah and Dany and if there was ever any doubt that Dany still has feelings other than hate for Jorah this episode should put it to rest (unless i'm grossly misinterpreting that scene )

I love Jorah because of all his flaws and desire to do right, it makes him very relatable and the actor does a brilliant job.

Second Hell Yeah! moment is obviously Dany taking flight on Drogon, such an awesome sight and something that will make show history (much less Westeros history aka "Where were you when she first rode a dragon? Ten feet away...").

Concerning Stannis.. well.. that puts him on the same level as all the other monsters on the show and could someone please take off Melisandre's head? Pretty please?

I don't know where they're going with Arya.. she's certainly not going to become a Faceless Man because she just can't let her old life go and i believe Jaqen knows this, question is why is he keeping her around if he knows she will not make it because her heart is not in it?

Well, as i expected the final episodes of the season are ramping it up episode by episode, one awesome moment following the other and next week should give me heart problems and i'm looking forward to it

It seems like it's going to be another thing that he doesn't mention until he gets found out. Will Jorah ever learn?
