Game of Thrones season 2 anticipation - HBO shows footage

I just got home from picking up my Blu-ray preorder from Best Buy. The Stark and Targaryen "exclusive" covers are just wraparounds for the box, rather than being cover images in their own right (and thus are rather flimsy when taken off the box).

I'm currently watching through the Histories & Lore section of the Complete Guide to Westeros. :techman:

I got the bluray pack more than a week ago. Don't ask me why, but it was available to buy pretty early through some distribuitors.

Just finished watching the first disc which arrived from Netflix today. It was just as good as I expected. I can't wait to keep working on it. It amazes me just how close they stayed to the book, some of the scenes played out almost exactly as I imagined them while reading the book. And the stuff that wasn't in the book fits perfectly with what was. Honestly, I think it was one of the best book-to-screen adaptations I've ever seen.

Is it two episodes per disc, or more?

I don't know about the others since I only do one disc at a time from Netlfix, but disc one had Episode 1: Winter is Coming, Episode 2: The Kingsroad, a (text only) guide to Westeros and character profiles.

Watched episode one on Blu-Ray with the wife last night. What a ridiculously awesome experience.

Just checked Netflix and disc 2 changed from short wait to available but I already moved up a classic DW serial, so I have to wait to get it. Hopefully it'll still be available by the time I finish DW.

I've been watching the blu-ray episodes with the commentaries. So far so good. The episode 3 commentary was a lot of fun. Sophie, Maisie, and Isaac "sang" the theme song, as mentioned above, and they really seemed to have a good time watching the episode and talking about everything behind the scenes.

The most interesting commentary so far was for episode 1, since it was the writers.

I got a chance to watch the Blu-ray yesterday and it's been excellent. I loved the history and lore section with some of the cast members narrating in character about the history of Westeros, with some really excellent illustrations. Multiple POVs on Robert's Rebellion and The Sack of King's Land for instance.

Agreed about the commentary track. Lena Headley is also really good in the one for The Kingsroad.

I have found a few of the Easter...er, Dragons Eggs. The ones I found had the screen test for the actor who played Sergio Forel. The guy was terrific. They also had the screen test for the guy who played The Hound. It's the book version of the scene where he tells Sansa how he got his scars. Why they changed it for the show, I have no idea. The actor (Rory I can't remember) is downright scary in one portion of it.

Here's a link on how to find it. No spoilers if anyone's worried unless maybe you scroll down to the comments page...

For anyone who hasn't gotten it yet, Wal-Mart's BRs have an exclusive extra disc with some interviews with GRRM. I just found out I'm getting a bonus from work along with a bunch of money for my taxes, so now I'm very serious considering picking up the BR on my way out of work tomorrow.
