Fuller House teaser trailer

I can barely remember the original, but I actually really liked (almost) all of this. The pilot was the weakest, because it wasn't really a part of this show. It was more like a jokey one-off tv reunion special that then quickly dovetailed into a very short setup for the series. If you look at the show as actually starting in episode two, instead of one, it's a lot better and less cheesy.

I was actually really impressed with how well Cameron, Jodi and Andrea could carry the show. Practically effortlessly entertaining. They work great together. In fact, I found myself more often annoyed with the Original Cast cameos than interested in them, because the girls were actually telling fun stories while the cameos with the older actors were basically just excuses to have the audience scream at the screen and let the actors throw out all their old catchphrases for a few minutes.

Joey especially seemed entirely stuck in the past. Danny and Becky were occassionally funny. Although, I agree it was weird that Danny wasn't there for Jesse and Becky's vow ceremony thing.

Am I the only one who doesn't care that Danny wasn't at the recommitment ceremony? Was he best man at the first wedding or something?

I think it was more that they had the whole cast back for the first episode, so I expected everybody to be back for the final episode as well.

I didn't really care either way. For me, it's more about the intrigue of why Saget wasn't there. I'm sure it was something as simple as an availability or contractual thing. But he's also seemingly been more gung-ho about the show than Coulier or Stamos. So I wonder if there's some intrigue there.

Because nothing says thrilling gossip like the behind the scenes goings on of a remake of silly 1990s family show.

I think if I had a ceremony like that with all my family and close friends and my best friend didn't show up, it would be kind of weird. Unless there was a specific reason, of course, and that's all that would've been needed to avoid the weirdness - give us the reason why.

I finished the whole season the other day. For the most part, it was harmless fluff but I enjoyed it. Saget seemed to be slouching a lot every time he appeared, and Stamos looks like he hasn't aged a day. Incredible.

A friend did raise an issue which I hadn't considered but which I now agree with -- the portrayal of Fernando is woefully and very much painfully stereotypical and borderline racist. I like Juan Pablo de Pace, and he's better than this kind of schlock-y and cartoonish role.

Since Stamos is an executive producer, I would think he'd be the most gung ho.

Yeah, I've been really impressed at how effortlessly they've slipped into their roles. I'm only halfway through now, but already it's starting to grow into its own. One of my favourite bits so far was when Fernando slapped Matt with the rubber glove. Actually laughed out loud at that.

They actually don't need both Olsen twins, just one, but both turned it down (as well as their sister as mentioned by another poster). Here's a quote from a recent article:

"Ashley said, 'I have not been in front of a camera since I was 17, and I don't feel comfortable acting,' " executive producer Bob Boyett tells PEOPLE. "Mary-Kate said, It would have to be me because Ash doesn't want to do it. But the timing is so bad for us."

The timing could possibly be better for Season 2. Even if it's a recurring or one off, I'd love to see Michelle return in some capacity.

Just as long as she's not recast, the charm of this show was (as Owain Taggart mentioned above) was watching these actors slip back into roles that they played 20 years ago, and do it with ease. That same charm will be absent if Michelle shows up as another actress.

I'd love for the show to slowly reveal that Danny was running a meth empire and that's why he couldn't show up. It would be like Breaking Bad but purely from Skyler and Walt Jr's POV. Dad just disappears for a while and they go about their day.

Danny's fake name could be Mr. Clean.

Yeah, and he's been on talk shows actively promoting it now, along with the rest of the cast. Meanwhile, I haven't seen Saget doing any of this. My feeling is that Saget isn't feeling as personally invested in it compared to the others. Likely he's not getting as much out of being reunited as the others.

What would have been cool to offset this a bit would have been to have him and Lori Loughlin reprise their roles and take over a morning talk show for a day, like say, Kelly & Micheal and just talk to guests in-character. Though maybe Netflix doesn't have that kind of money for promotional purposes.

I don't remember the original show being like this, but this show can be quite meta . In episode 12, there's a dig at Coulier in reference to Alanis Morrisette. "You know what the song's really about, don't you?"

I'm rewatching the original right now and the only meta thing I can think of, and it may not even meet the definition, is when Steve and Michelle have their pretend wedding. Right after the wedding Steve says he has to go home because his mom's making meatloaf. Back in season 2 when Stephanie and Harry had their pretend wedding, Harry left right away because it was meatloaf night at his house.

The comment about Danny running a meth empire reminds me of a game my husband and I play when we watch Full House. We joke that Full House was actually an hour long dark, gritty drama, but the network cuts the last half of the episodes for time. The half we see ends just before things get dark. I won't give you too many examples from our "dark Full House" episode ideas (we can be morbid people), but let's just say Michelle doesn't have things quite so easy anymore.

Speaking of different genres, here are the actresses acting out the theme in different genres:

My vote goes to Jodi. Although Andrea's was a close second.

Here they are reacting to the mixed reviews. And personally, I agree with them.

I've seen the review reaction video before. You're right to agree with them. It's the best answer possible.

The first idea of the show was the three women, and they Uncle Jessy would be around and they just happened to have the others come back.

Saget has a life, he does very adult stand up. He isn't probably into the show as much as the others who barely have worked in 20 years, and Stamos who pushed for the show. I don't see that as a scandal or anything.

Saget has tried to distance himself from Full House and America's Funniest Home Videos. Even though most of his fans got there because they wanted to hear Danny Tanner say horrific things.

He could be busy performing and not have time to appear on every episode.

And I still don't know why he needs to be in so many episodes of this show. It's supposed to be about he girls anyway. I would have been happy to see him once in the pilot and then never see him again.

Not that I don't like him. I just don't see a pressing need for him...
