Oh, and I totally want to see the flash back episode where younger Uncle Joey and younger but not too young Kimmy hooked up.

That being said: drop all the tongue and cheek stuff. We get it: the Olsen twins didn't want to be in the sequel. The pokes they take at them, especially the one in the pilot with the fourth wall break, was just sad.

Eh, I didn't mind this. It seems like this show was clearly made for the older age group who were kids during the original run. I was never going to take it too seriously, so I appreciate they were able to poke fun at themselves.

That said, Michelle is still their baby sister. She's an important character in universe, so it would be weird for them not to reference her. It would be nice if the Olsen twins changed their minds for Season 2, though. It'd be fun to have them come back.

Here's a question: I wonder if it ever occurred to anybody to ask Elizabeth Olsen to play the grown-up Michelle?

Seriously. The twins may never decide to come back (and as joked, why should they?), but you don't actually need them to. All you need is someone who looks enough like an adult Michelle to play an adult Michelle. Well, ya blonde her hair up and sink in her cheekbones a bit and Elizabeth is the spitting image of the twins, and unlike the twins she still seems to enjoy acting, so sign her on and let her act like her sisters' character. Better, she can add a little parody of her real-life sisters in the performance, sort of "Yes, we'll meet in MIlan!" mixed with "You got it dude!" We get a Michelle, Elizabeth gets more work, the twins can stay away...everybody wins.

Just a thought.

I said the very same thing in the old thread. I argued that Lizzie looks more like what you'd expect grown-up Michelle to look like anyway.

I'm glad she turned it down. The charm of this show is seeing the original actresses (and actors) reprise their roles they said goodbye to 22 yeas ago. While it would be great to see what Michelle is up to as a character, it would lose a bit of it's charm if it was a different actress.

The other thing I gathered from something I read the other day was MK was more open to the idea than Ashley. I wonder if all involved would go along if it was only one of them.

Yeah. Physically, they're actually quite different. MK is left handed, which was always a sure way to tell who was on screen. Early on, the producers tried to get her to hold stuff in her right hand, but it was hard for her to do, so the producers just gave up.

There are several scenes where Michelle is holding a crayon (or whatever) in her right hand, and then a few cuts later, she's holding they same crayon in her left.

The other thing I gathered from something I read the other day was MK was more open to the idea than Ashley. I wonder if all involved would go along if it was only one of them.

I don't see why they would need both now. Don't they use twins for child characters so if one is cranky, they can use the other? Or is there some screen actors guild requirement? (ETA: this site explains children have very limited hours they can "work")

Or I was thinking that if having both of them involved is really a sticking point, have Ashley do a quick Skype scene in the season premier or whatever, and then MK could do a full guest spot later in the season.

Netflix has ordered a second season.

If there were to get the Olsen twins they should keep switching them between cuts and do absolutely nothing to disguise how different they look.

The biggest sticking point is what was stated above. Ashley doesn't want to do it. I'm guessing that means at all, Skype or no, switch or no. MK is willing, but her schedule prevented her from doing it this season.

So if you have to have both, we probably won't get either. Press Ashley and you might lose MK to sisterly solidarity.

Just kill her off screen, she isn't needed. Then for the funeral all of Michelle's friends can come back. Then we can get Blake McIver Ewing back because he has gotten hot.
