Average--This season was off to a strong start with the premiere episode being decent and last week was the best of the three. This one was dull.

A standalone freak of the week story--yawn. I guess they figured setting it in the AU would make it seem fresh but it didn't. Couldn't they have come up with something a bit more inventive and intriguing than the idea that he became supersmart because of a drug trial? That's tired.

I don't think the actress who plays Olivia is that great of an actress but there is something about the way she plays alt Olivia and that awful red mop on her head that just is cringe-worthy. I don't mind reg Astrid and the actress does a fine job with that character but tough-as-nails number cruncher Astrid I just have to laugh at--I simply can't take her seriously she can't pull it off. The rest of the team doesn't fare much better in creating interesting enough characters to watch--although I do admire, in theory, them adding new characters via the AU. I sorta like the burnt dude though. Broyles, Charlie, Olivia's doctor stud--meh. The only alt character that isn't annoying to watch is Walternate.

The episode came off as little more than filler with the only interesting stuff that we got in the first act with Walternate and at the very end.

Excellent... Nice 'twist' that the guy was able to see probabilities. (instead of just 'seeing the future')

This season has had a *great* start so far. This was the best so far of the season IMO.

And I really like the alternate Fringe team too.

So what type of combat do you think the Aruba War had?

Hopefully someone capped that assbleep Joran Van Der Sloot's ass in that war...

Anyway it was nice to see that Olivia isn't completely brainwashed. I had a feeling that she wasn't and nice to see it confirmed. And that fact saved her life. It looks like Charlie is suspicious of her. I think he knows her better than anyone else in his universe and he's a bit wary of her.

Anyone spot the Observer? I missed him...as usual.

Another strong episode. This show is really hitting on cylinders now and the bad thing is, very few people are watching. This is what it would have been like if the first 6-8 episodes of Lost weren't as strong, it didn't attract the big audience from the outset and then the show got as good as it did.........very frustrating for people who had the patience to let the show develop into it's own versus those who didn't have the patience to even give it a season.

In any case, Olivia's stay in altverse appears to be heading towards a rapid closure based on events in the realverse next week and the fact that she's starting to realize who she really is. Now that she's essentially a blended Olivia, the possibilities for her character are exciting and it'll be interesting to see where they take her character.

I'm hoping against all hope the show gets 5 seasons to tell it's story and tell it well, but with all the sheep in this country watching "Teen Mom", "Dancing with the Stars" and the latest Kardashian crap, that the TV stations will keep giving us the mindless tripe that most people want and allow the more intelligent drama's to fall by the wayside. It's a shame I live in a country so filled with idiots. :(

I LOVE Fauxlivia! She's SO much more fun than our dead-serious one.

Agreed. I'm hoping they keep aspects of the Fauxlivia when she crosses back over. As a blended character she's much more interesting which'll be nice since Walter's sort of carried the show for some time now on interesting characters.

Above Average.

Fringe continues its very strong season 3. I loved that Olivia's character was the focus of the episode -- how even the villain was foiled because of Olivia's inner conflicts. That's a product of very good writing. And I really enjoyed "Peter's" speech, too.

With Lost over and Dexter/Office/Sunny sucking, I declare Fringe the best show currently on TV! :P
As much as I'm enjoying Fringe, I think there are multiple shows that are ahead of Fringe for that category. Mad Men, Rubicon, Sons of Anarchy, and Boardwalk Empire, for example.

Just finished watching the tape from last night, and gave it 'Above Average'. Yeah, it was kind of a 'Freak of the Week' type ep, but it was neat seeing Liv struggle with the inconsistencies in her memories. I also enjoy seeing her and Scarlie working together... Funny he's the first one in two universes to suspect that she's not who she appears to be.

I love this show. I hope that FOX doesn't muff it up.

I loved the actress who played "Maddie"...she really made me care about her and what happened to her freaky brother. (Rather than the, both just being random forgettable characters of the week - though they dropped the ball with the brother, I thought they'd go with a more tragic "Flowers for Algernon" type story - but I guess they had to keep the focus on Olivia.)

Anyway, the actress who played "Maddie" is named Kacey Rohl - and she was also on this week's "Caprica"...and she was on "V' last season.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3821782/

Also, I wrote to her online (not sayin' how) - and she wrote *back* to me - PERSONALLY!! Said she was glad someone noticed her, and she's never gotten stalk...er...*fan*...mail before... :techman:

That's very cool. I, too, thought she did a good job of portraying a sympathetic character. Who was she on Caprica?

A character named "Ada". I'm not sure who that was, so I'll have to re-watch the episode again more closely...probably she was one of the STO on young people in the Caprica cell we saw.

she was also in V last season, in the episode "Heretic's Fork", where's she's just credited as "woman"...and she'll be playing someone called "Prudence" in an upcoming film called "Red Riding Hood"...

^Wait...my bad...I'm pretty sure she was the girl terrorist who helped blow up the stadium in the VR/Holoband simulation sister Clarice produced...
