Friday Night Lights Spoilers wanted!

Well the new season of Friday Night Lights kicked off tonight on NBC. I love this show and I know it is shown on Direct TV before it airs on regular TV.

I wanna know if anybody has seen this season already and if so could you please PM me with spoilers. I love spoilers and they do not ruin the show for me at all.

Thanks!

Before this thread disappears into the ether, I want to say the end of Friday Night Lights is one of the most bittersweet things. FNL was a fantastic show, among the best (perhaps even the best) on television in the last ten years and I think the fact it never found an audience is a tragedy. Except for the Writer's-Strike-shortened 2nd season it was consistently stellar and the way it ends was just... there's no other way it could have ended. I think the move to 13-episode seasons was a shame because we got less show, but I think it was actually a good decision creatively.

i picked up season 5 dvd last week. so far so good. We just watched the episode "Kingdom." So many awesome, small moments that make the show feel so real. I was also reminded how amazing their casting is. Buddy Jr looks a lot like Buddy Sr.

i can't wait to finish the show, but i also don't want to see it end.

I must admit, when I think of my personal 'top 10' shows it's heavily skewed towards sci-fi/fantasy. FNL is right up there towards the top though.

Anyone that's never seen it really should make the effort. It's one of those shows that if you do like it, you'll likely absolutely adore it.

I have tried watching it the pilot, but I just can't get through it. It's a football show to me, I hate football. I know it's about characters and such, but it's too much football.

However I'm glad Direct TV has given the show three extra seasons to tell their story and let it end the way the writers wanted.

Wish I could see this. I have no interest in the sport whatsoever but...Kyle Chandler. I'd watch anything with him in it, just for the link to the late, lamented Early Edition. :(

You should try picking up the DVDs; Kyle Chandler is a part of what got me to check the show out, and his performance is absolutely one of the reasons I became a dedicated fan, especially as the show became less and less showing the football itself.

Like all things of course it's not for everybody.

I'm no fan of (American) football, it bores me to be honest. That being said, it's really just a vehicle for the character journeys, and as mentioned above, the football actually gets more sparse as time goes on. It's still the backdrop for the series, but there's less specific focus, particularly in the final season.
