For All Mankind Trailer - Apple TV- SPOILER

It'll be interesting watching all the background details of the alternate timeline. What would the world look like in the 90's with a Soviet Union? Based on the trailer, looks like Ed is in space, but someplace with gravity, my guess is either space or moon station.

My wife and I just rewatched the first two seasons in anticipation of season three coming out.

We love this show. Looks like we’re getting another time jump…I can’t wait to see what they’ve done.

Yea. I'm expecting(hoping) we get an opening similar to season 2 where we get tidbits of timeline changes/news events that occurred between S2 and S3 like we did for between S1 and S2. I think it seems like a new decade each season is the plan. I had seen an interview last year with one of the creators and I think the 'loose plan' was revolved around 7 seasons with the show eventually moving beyond our current year.

I've been avoiding pre-release publicity for spoiler reasons, but I did hear that the bonus-feature news vignettes done for season 2 (which were, partially, an expanded version of the montage in the premiere) would also come out for season 3. I thought those began dropping in the lead-up to the season, last time, but maybe all the bonus features will come out in a big lump when the new episode goes live.

Hopefully, Apple TV will make their special features a little easier to find this time. I had the same problem with Amazon Prime and the Expanse webisodes, they're so eager to jump you straight into the episode the menu system is hard to get to.

Interesting.

I wonder if Ed's daughter will be an astronaut by now?

Great opener!
glad to see many (now older) people back!
Intriguing story lines all over.

  • Super happy for someone and her dad that she gets to go to the moon!
  • Glad the tether held. if I remember correctly Tracy/Gordo's oldest was in navy/airforce service, so potential astronaut?
  • Could Ed's broken leg lead to a forced exit from NASA, then he's picked up by the private sector?

Wish I could watch multiple/all episodes at once tough.

Is there any place to see this other than AppleTV? I refuse to cough up for yet another streaming service.

Spoilers for 1st ep
So Ellen is running against Bill Clinton for the Presidency?

It looks like we had 1972-Ted Kennedy, 1976/1980(Reagan two-terms starting 4 years earlier), then 1984/1988(Gary Hart two-terms) and now it's 1992 with Ellen on the Republican ticket vs Bill Clinton on the Democratic Party ticket.

Since the show has set 1996 as the Mars Landing goal (both Russians and Americans) I'm guessing we'll go through a few years pretty quickly.

I'm thinking Ed's injury takes him out of NASA and he joins the private sector and is part of a private sector mission to Mars that competes against both Russia and NASA.

Considering Karen's super wealthy husband died on the space hotel and she's going to probably inherit, but also have to pay a lot of inheritance taxes (plus deal with possible lawsuits and stock drops) I'm wondering if maybe similar to how you have Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Richard Branson all doing private space right now if another of the 'private space' billionaires in the show's timeline will merge/acquire as a result of his death.

I don't think Karen and Sam got married, I was keeping an eye out, and neither seemed to be wearing a ring, so I think they were just business partners. She'll probably still end up in charge of the company, but just because she's some kind of C-level executive, not through inheritance.

I really should have watched S2 again before this. I've forgotten a few tid-bits that would answer questions I have.

Not sure why people are using spoiler tags since thread is already marked for spoilers and we've talked openly in past seasons. With that said, spoilers follow unmarked.

Damn, that's one hell of a way to start the season. I couldn't remember how much we saw of Ed in the trailer so I thought he was going to die there for a moment, but I agree with others that his injured leg will take him out of NASA and into the private sector race. Not only that, but I suspect Molly's musings about him will give the private sector enough leverage to stay right up with NASA and presumably Danielle's mission That should be an interesting dynamic to watch play out this season.

My heart continues to break for Margo because she has maintained her covert communication with Sergei, and while it's to their mutual benefit, the KGB continues to pressure him for highly classified intel. Even if Sergei doesn't get anything from her, when someone inevitably discovers Margo's communications, it's going to look very badly for her despite the knowledge she gained from Sergei. In fact, I think Margo is already being observed considering how the camera deliberately lingered on the guy flipping through records and again after the phone call and he's gone.

But on the plus side, Aleida is finally going to the Moon! While we already knew from Ron Moore that she's going to be the through thread for the entirety of the show, I'm thrilled her dream is coming true already.

Yup, he gets married in his Navy uniform...although I have to say I was surprised to see he's only a lieutenant. I can't remember if he only just joined the service or if he already graduated from the Naval Academy by the conclusion of season two, but if the latter, he should at least be a lieutenant command by now.
