Flu shots are WORTHLESS!

I'd always heard that a vaccine has to be specifically produced to fight a specific virus. So each year is kind of a coin toss as to which flu strain will be dominant. If science gets it wrong and a different strain attacks the general public, the vaccine is pretty much worthless.

Never gotten a flu shot and as far as I know I've had the flu all of one time in my life. I spent one day where my entire body hurt and my head throbbed, then another ten days with very nasty cold symptoms.

I had my flu shot 2 weeks ago, felt like shit as usual for a few days, then was good to go.

It's just how it works.

Being in an at-risk population, I got stuck at the VA a couple of weeks ago for the normal flu shot and will do so again for the H1N1 vaccine when it comes out in a week or two.

No problems at all here.

Once the swine flu vaccine itself is rolled out I'll be being jabbed as a first responder. I look forward to dying/developing AIDS/whatever's supposed to happen.
