Q could appear older also (just like real-life de Lancie does now).I watched QPid again this morning, often maligned episode, but I was really pleased with it. The connection between Q and Picard was outstanding. I really hope he shows up.
I'm not a always a fan of Abram's cinematography, but I am curious: how is the dialogue and cinematography Abrams-esque, or is that a new synonym for "I don't like it" ? Neither seem very like him, actually.
Sounds more like The West Wing.Constant quirky dialogue and having to speak all the time at a fast pace. Like everyone on the bridge is being an annoying cunt like Data was in Generations.
The show is also being filmed in California. And since it appears this is Starfleet Academy, I wonder if it's being shot in the same location that stood for the Academy grounds.
Those pennants are pretty cool too.More pics from twitter:

It was the Tillman water reclamation plant with its Japanese garden in Van Nuys in TNG and VOY. That was also used as Rubicon III in TNG. I've been there, it's still very recognizable.Since one of the pics clearly shows "Anaheim Convention Center", this confirms the location is not one that has previously been used for Starfleet Academy. In TNG, it was a set on the Paramount lot, in ST'09 it was Cal State Northridge, and I don't know where it was in STiD (but it wasn't Anaheim).
Some people (like me) think they're inspired by a pre-release STO design that was also used in the Countdown comicIt has been a while since I played STO, but aren't the uniforms similar to that?

Here are 4 examples of scenes with high stakes and pressing circumstances...

From the CBS upfronts. Looks like the Starfleet uniforms are straight out of Countdown/Star Trek Online.
All excellent things IMO.DSC featured a lot of walk and talk, moving cameras, heavy vfx, and lens flares. Very reminiscent of the style established for the ST09 movie.
All excellent things IMO.
Agreed here as well. While I can appreciate the style of TNG, it all felt incredibly stiff and awkward at times. All excellent things IMO.
Ah, yes, you had hair thenThey have hair now.
The banner looks like it reads Starfleet Headquarters... too bad everyone is facing away, would love to see the comm badge design. So I just found this image on the Reddit page /r/picard
