First Picard Show pic!

I wonder why CBS let it happen that bootlegged photos and stills from promotional videos are shaping the first impression of such a flag ship show. They could not hire an on set photographer and release HQ images? They could not release the press release video? I consider this a sign of a strong insecurity from the producers about the product. They dont seem proud about what they have accomplished so far and want to show it to the public.

Who says they haven't? These pics are fun as an appetizer, and you'll get your HQ pics before long.

This is normal for most productions.

Lets wait for it to be a train wreck before declaring it a train wreck. I'm just excited for a few pics that remind me of "Star Trek".

Incorrect. A lot of productions are playing things quite tight to the vest, so they see no reason to release information right now.

They can do all they want-they chose not to, likely because production secrets are a premium nowadays.

Spy pics were pretty much how the ST'09 hype kicked off in 2008, and it worked for them:shrug:

These leaked photos have peaked my interest. That photo of Picard in civvies gives me the impression the show is going to be more about legacy and the journey of life, and less pew pew (and im ok with that but ymmv.)

Im loving the post nemesis uniform design from what I can see on a blurry zoomed in picture.

I'm ok with them not using the AGT uniforms. That detail doesn't bother me as much as it would have when I was younger.(like how the enterprise e had 24/26/29+ decks)

It also might just be me, but I think the badges do look like the AGT combadges.

Too blurry to be able to tell, but regardless these photos and descriptions did the job and got me excited.

Star Trek:Picard - Make it so.

Seen the "leaked" images and such.

Meh.

Just hard for me to feel or get motivated or moved by this series given the look/feel of Trek these days.

It is not uncommon for things shown at places like upfronts to not be intended for public consumption yet. Don't forget the show just started filming so they haven't really had time for a lot of polished stuff yet but they wanted to give the media at upfronts a tease but it wasn't something intended or ready for the public.

This is not uncommon.

Oh man I knew it felt familiar:

So PIC then?
Stone Temple Pilots chose their name specifically to fit the logo so I think STP could be good enough for Picard.

Tell me that this guy doesn't look like he's wearing the First Contact uniform. Grey shoulders with a red collar.

That may be just miscoloration due to brightening of the photo. That part is pretty dark in the original leaked photo.

There looks to be another one in the left corner that seems to have grey shoulders when you brighten the photo enough.
