RAMA this made my day. Finally a photo of the cast even though it is not a CBS photograph from the studio in wardrobe.
Reported by CBS News (and other outlets), but it's not that startrek.com just hasn't updated it - there's been no official press release that I have seen.

And didn't he oppose Spock joining Starfleet as opposed to disapproving of Starfleet in general?

Maybe there's a reason he disaproves of starfleet..
I think both, it took STTVH for him to admit his son's friends were people of good character. So you can imagine what he thought of them before. Sarek was prone to hypocrisy when it came to humans anyway.

Why can't he be both? Spock is both the science officer and the executive officer on the Enterprise. Perhaps Sarek's role in Discovery is as an astrophysicist primarily?When was Sarek an astrophysicist? He's a diplomat.
Maybe the events surrounding his stint as a Starfleet Astrophysicist is what leads to his disapproval of Spock joining Starfleet.
