So sorry for your loss, StarCruiser. My sympathies. 
That’s awesome. Prospurrity and long life to your current cattoes.I posted this once before, but in memory of our previous six ....
We have three more now, Sherlock, Mycroft, and Watson, and I hope and pray we don't need to add any of their names to it for a long, long time to come.

What's the healthiest dry snack to give to a cat? I've been giving mine Feline Greenies.
I searched for sites that rate the best pet foods and treats, but how can you tell which sites are legit and which sites are just ads disguised as unbiased sites? Customer reviews also suck because 1) it's either the greatest pet food or the worst pet food ever, and 2) not all pets react the same to certain brands.

According to my vet, no snack is really healthy. Greenies are good for their teeth, if that's the issue.
Also according to my vet, any non-prescription dry food is not that great. But, since she knew I was broke as hell, she recommended Purina Pro Plan Weight Management (the white bag) for my tubby cat--but only once a day. He gets a small can of wet food (he likes the Meow Mix orange tubs) twice a day and a little of the dry (no more than a quarter cup) as a "putting away at night" snack. But that's because Junior is a giant cat--it would less for an average sized cat. Canned food is always better than dry because cats are carnivores; their bodies function best on meat and only meat.
So, go cheap with the canned but pay extra for the better dry food.

Our vet recommended no canned food, and ordered NO people food. We feed them Purina Beyond dry. Our vet approves ... but of course, she "recommends" the expensive brand they sell at the clinic. Not that Beyond is cheap by any means, it is less expensive than other brands with similar ingredients. We get three or four different flavors and mix them. The boys seem to like it better that way.
Our cat is a gigantic 28 pound mutant named Sidious. He's not a fat cat, just long. I had to look up to be certain housecat/panther hybrids weren't a thing. He does a lot of vocalizing. He used to be a lot more precise when he was younger. I wish I'd taken recordings of him then for youtube. He could have given Old Don Piano and Yaas cat a run for their money.

Junior is that way with yogurt. He licked a spoon of it once and was hooked. My vet, however, told me that yogurt can cause liver damage so that was the end of his yogurt spree. However, I still can't eat my Yoplait without him being two inches from my face.

I am so sorry! We got to hold our cat as she left us at not even 5, both her kidney's failed. It has been years, but I still miss her and remember holding her as she left us. We have her ashes. Sending hugs to you
I didn't hear a cat purr until I was 12. We didn't really have cats just dogs. And I was a dog person very much. But I was sad and my grandma had just died. I was crying in a chair and the cat we had just gotten for that birthday, jumped in my lap. I sat and petted him over and over, then he purred. I didn't know what it was, I thought the cat was sick. So I told my dad the cat is making odd noises, he touched it and said, the cat is purring, it is content. After that I was a cat person. And the sound or a purring cat is my 2nd favorite sound!!
We think he's a Bombay, but I don't think he cares one way or another. When we got him from the pound they said "he's nuts"
Mr. Silvercrest does not think cats care as much as dogs when a person is sad and crying. I think they do. What do you all think? Ever have a cat comfort you when you were crying or sad?
