Feline Follies

Mr. Silvercrest does not think cats care as much as dogs when a person is sad and crying. I think they do. What do you all think? Ever have a cat comfort you when you were crying or sad?
I don't think cats care in the same way we do, but they do have a kind of order they want in their domain. So they care but they don't care?

They're territorial and we're part of the pack. If we're behaving differently or showing signs that we're acting stressed or somehow not quite right, they can read that. They communicate with body language and seem to read ours ok.

I was sick for a week this winter and the baby of our trio spent entire days on the bed keeping watch. She never sits still for anything. They all greet us in the morning (they’re not allowed in the room at night because they jostle for bed space all night - no sleep to be had then lol) and as soon as we get home from work. They’re extremely what I used to consider dog-like.

I am so sorry! We got to hold our cat as she left us at not even 5, both her kidney's failed. It has been years, but I still miss her and remember holding her as she left us. We have her ashes. Sending hugs to you

5 is way too young to loose a cat...

Bandit did have a long life - though it could have been longer if not for cancer. Oh, by the way, cancer sucks!

I figure it's time to start posting some images so you know who "Smokey and the The Bandit" were:

The Kittehs in March/April of 2003 - exploring:

"The Bandit" around 2015 or so - fat and content (about 19 lbs!):

"Smokey" around the same time and about the same weight (part Maine Coon so..?):

Poor ol' El Bandido a few days before leaving this world:

At this point, he was down to less than 12 lbs and chewing on his leg. It still hurts more than 5 days after...

What sweeties. I’m sorry.

"Her Royal Fluffyness" is still going strong so, I still have her to keep me busy.

El Bandido (The Wondercat - because we wondered about him) was a silly thing at times and had oddball habits. Always sweet natured though.

I do still remember the unfortunate moth that was flying around right under the ceiling fan in the loft - Bandit sat there watching and watching and then the moth goofed - came down just enough for Bandit (at the time, lean and fit) to hop up and slap both front paws on that moth... Gulp - gone...

Luner petunia.jpg Our Luna is part Snowshoe. She’s only 12lb but is the largest of our three. She’s the only one who catches mice though. The 8lb Siamese is too distractible and our Persian is too old to be arsed. Lina looks large and slow but when she goes SHE GOES. ( with her orange bear which she’s had since she was a kitten)
