Feline Follies

Identity theft is no joke...

My cat actually sleeps at night, which is a relief that he's not running around raising hell at that hour. I can walk past him, bang some pots and pans, or turn on the TV right next to him and he's content where he is. But if I clean the litter box while he's sleeping, suddenly he's wide awake, attentive to the fact that I'm cleaning out the litter box and now he'll be wide awake for hours, make lots of noise and want lots of attention. Any idea why that would be the case?

Now he's gotta go dirty it again. He had it just right.

Makes sense - I like to be the first person to um; rechristen my bathroom after I’ve cleaned it lol.

Am not alone in this. One of ours supervises the box scooping very intently and then she pees in every single one when I’m done.

It might be the small felines as prey instinct that makes them uncomfortable when their territory is ruffled.

Cats are very picky who cleans the litter box. It is from a cat's point of view an honor job for us to do. My cat is funny with hers. When I clean it and put it down all nice and flat, she has to go and make a pile in it. So I like to flatten it out again and she goes back and makes a pile, back and forth it goes :)

I can't trust my cat with human food, she thinks anything edible is meant for her. I recently caught her trying to walk off with a slice of pizza. It was a bit too heavy, but she was trying her best.

Sometimes they don't care how big something is.

On Friday, I was looking for something to watch, and was scrolling through Amazon on the TV--while Junior sat in my lap. I found something called Movies for Cats, so I clicked on it. It's a 30 minute loop of birds at a feeding station in the trees. Junior was GLUED. He jumped up, ran over to the TV and sat with his nose right up against the screen.

But my "special" boy didn't care about the birds. He was trying to paw the tree branches that were swaying in the breeze.

It's a good thing he's an indoor kitty.
