If it was just a case of unlikeable characters I wouldn't mind as long as I could see their perspective. Unfortunately, in the two-hour mid-season finale and premiere there were too many times where the actions of the show's supposed protagonists made me just question "what the hell are you doing and why?" Meanwhile whenever Walker talks about needing to kill the Ranchers for safety or now that he's on the Ranch, needing to be in charge of the arms and provisions again for safety I totally get his point and actually agree with his take on things.

At this point I really am more sympathetic towards Walker and his people than I am the Clarke family or the crazy Ranchers.

He got pretty badly used. I thought he was going to use pip bombs. Nope--some kind of gold used to buy off Hary Mudd Stand's debt.

Still--the two man rule was a good idea. The arms should be used on zombies only. Let's not forget he killed Travis out of a fit of pique.

Finally caught up. The most recent episode had Madison cut up a big fat Walker stuck in a sewage pipe. Gross. Since there will be a new showrunners next season i'm guessing that by the end of this season everything will go to hell on the ranch and everyone's fate will be left up in the air. I hope so because I'm really tired of the ranch storyline.

I didn't like dowsing. Junk science. On a hill--you are far above the water table...one would think

If the folks on the Ranch wanted to be really mean--they could poison the well--wait for Walkers group to live up to that name--then come back once the knowledge to use firearms has been dulled.

A solar still for well water will be needed--but for irrigation at first--to be on the safe side.
Once Madison gets back "We don't know what happened."

I can't help but think this all ends badly.

Had I been at the joined group--I would have pushed for infrastructure. Work people outside--then there's no energy left for a fight.

I missed finishing the episode where Troy w asbin a shoot out, but after this last episode, apparently he is still alive. WHY?????

I am guessing Alicia will lose yet another boyfriend sometime soon....

So, according to his weak brother Jake, Troy skinned a rabbit alive, which he had to put down. Did they really need to give Troy a Lizzie characteristic?

Alicia is more annoying than ever. She's just a user. How is she supposed to be one of the protagonists? Why would anyone on the ranch listen to this inexperienced person?

With Jake dead (who didn't see that coming?), who gets to put on their best "badass" facial expression when killing Troy?

It took this long for walkers to be used as...here's a crazy idea...a horror element on the show, instead of being the usual afterthought?

Instead of trying to redirect the walkers with an RV barricade, why not have one vehicle drive away slowly, blowing the horn to draw them away? If Eugene (of all people) knew enough to successfully use a version of that maneuver (TWD S5/E14 - "Spend"), how did that idea fail to register with this group of people?

In "El Matadero"--the penultimate episode of season 3 (because eps 15 & 16 will be broadcast as one, 2-hour season ender), Ofelia is finally red-shirted in a very uneventful, passing-the-time fashion. Daniel's reaction was typically moving from his 11th-hour Ofelia obsession to threatening to kill Madison. Meanwhile, Alicia (travelling on her own) meets Fake Michonne in a dynamic that clearly swipes from the early TWD season 3 episodes where Andrea & Michonne were going through their friendship growing pains / traveling from place to place. Yawn to swipes.

Yawn to Nick being back on drugs.

At New York Comic Con, Kirkman teased a crossover between the two WD shows, but did not offer any information on how or when, since The Walking Dead timeline is years ahead of FTWD. Obviously, there cannot be any TWD flashbacks to the early years, as all remaining actors/actresses from say, season one and two are visibly far older and could not pull off younger versions, even with the aid of CG (e.g., Robert Downey Jr.'s plastic-looking younger self seen in Captain America: Civil War). A FTWD character could be aged a few years, but this just smells like a shameless attempt to boost FTWD's ratings, which--as noted in the linked article:

"The buzz about the convergence of worlds could help boost fan interest in Season 4 of "Fear," which has seen a big drop in viewership since its first season."

My guess is that this one FTWD character will drop hints about the fate of the Clark family, which buys FTWD an easy out when the ratings drop so much, AMC prepares to pull the plug before it could resolve its own storylines.

I finally stopped watching this show about three weeks ago and I haven't looked back. I only popped in here to see if maybe the show was finally starting to pick up steam, but it doesn't look like I'm missing anything.

About the Walking Dead/Fear the Walking Dead crossover: I'll put money on it that it will be about Madison's former life back east, with her brothers Daryl and Merle. Most likely we'll find out that Madison had to leave and head to L.A. after it's discovered that Nick picked up his drug habit from his uncle Merle making them readily available (while also discovering that Madison's parents abused the three Dixon siblings).

I am thinking more likely that the Latino family that left just before the first season crew made it to the CDC will connect in some way (the timing would work out fine). Or Tobias could join the TWD. (Strand and/or Daniel would be great too).

Now I missed a couple of important episodes...but clearly it is ridiculous that Troy is NOT dead yet!!!!!!

Oh and #WhereIsOfelia? #UnderTheOliveTree

Nah, you're not thinking big enough. Joe Nielsen-viewer doesn't give two shits about Tobias on The Walking Dead. Now, if you took the "BIG" star of The Walking Dead, Daryl (who, I would argue, fizzled out and overstayed his welcome YEARS ago, but everybody loves him, so I digress) and put him on an episode of Fear the Walking Dead, then everybody's going to tune in to that episode to see what FTWD is all about. That's why I'm thinking it will deal with Merle and Daryl and their previously unspoken-of sister Madison.

AMC is looking for a big name to spike their FTWD ratings so they can justify the show's existence to advertisers to keep it going. I could, however, be wrong and it have nothing to do with Madison being related to the Dixons, but if I am, then that's because she'll end up being related to Rick Grimes :) Again, because $$$$$$$$$$

Agreed--for some reason, some WD fans maintain an interest in this one-shot character who simply thought something was going on, etc. He's just some teenager, and not a fascinating one at that. The crossover has have meaning to both shows, otherwise, it will be forgettable or seen as a pure "save FTWD" stunt.

That would be soap-opera awful if Madison had any blood relation to any TWD character. Despite Strand being an ass of late, I'd rather see him in the crossover than Madison.

What they went really clever and have the crossover take place on "Better Call Saul." Jimmy has Merle as a client and to get him out of jail he needs help from a con artist and he calls up a old friend of his in Strand and they find away to blackmail the judge in letting Merle not go to jail.

I hope they keep Troy around for next season. He is a really interesting character and maybe the best thing to come from the whole ranch arc. I like how he is a loose canon and I think if he fills that role than maybe we can see Strand become more of a leader you can count on type which would make for a new development to the character. I think Walker, crazy eyes(I think that is what his name is) and Salazar or your most dispossible characters at the moment but that is one reason why you shouldn't kill all of them because it would be to predictable. I think Madison would be the one I would kill even though she is the best actor on the show. For starters it would be a bold movie that even "Walking Dead" would never do in that you know RIck won't die until the end of the show. PLus it would leave the characters without a leader, meaning people would need to step up and to me that would be Nick,Strand and Alicia.

You mean the actor? Michael Greyeyes, actually.

I was talking about the character he plays. What is his characters name? I know he had a kind of sinister nick name and then Ofelia called him by his regular name but now I can't recall either of them.

Qaletaqa is his first name, which sometimes gets abbreviated to just Taqa.

Something tells me they're only keeping Troy around for Alicia to kill out of revenge. As for Strand, he's always making secret deals (as in this week's episode) and judging Madison's way of doing things, so I do not see him stepping into any leadership position, unless its with new people.
