Favourite Recurring Characters

What are your favourite recurring (non-main) characters from all the series you've seen?

I'm torn between Garek and Q for my favourite. I think the actors both did their job brilliantly.

Some of my other favourites: Lwaxana Troi, Guinan, Martok, Gul Dukat, Rom, Vic Fontaine.

List your favourites here I'm interested to hear opinions.

Sarek, Sito, Ro, Garak, Rom, Dukat, Tain, Weyoun.

I know that's pretty DS9-biased, but most of the shows didn't have recurring characters I actually liked. :)

I think that was one of the things that made that series great. Most of the ones from TOS are hardly memorable and i just started watching voyager.

My favorite reoccurring character is Vash. Who else would tell Captain Jean-Luc Picard in a sexy purr, "This isn't a starship, Jean-Luc. I don't follow orders."

And when she breaks into the captain's quarters, does Picard call security? No. He has her spend the night with him and feeds her breakfast the next morning.

This woman is too cool! :D

Warmest Wishes,
Whoa Nellie

Beautiful woman who only appeared twice and were heard from no more:

Ensign Robin Leffler
Ensign Sonya Gomez
K'Ehleyr
Dr. Selar (one physical appearance, once mentioned on the intercom)

Should have been seen MUCH more often.

^Lefler and Selar are in the New Frontier novels and Gomez is in the SCE series.

Leeta
Shran
Q
Weyoun
Garak
Rom

in that order

Here's a grab bag:

Shran, Tomalak, Soval, Admiral Forrest, Barclay, Lwaxana Troi, Mr. Homn (my personal favorite), Degra, Dolim, Unnamed Xindi Council Guy (Tucker Smallwood).

STAR TREK had a nice cast of recurring officers in the first season, the most memorable of which is probably Kevin Riley. It also had, of course, Harry Mudd.

STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION had the ever-present Q, Guinan, and a number of other characters who appeared in multiple episodes (Tomalak is a fun character who one wishes they could have done more with).

STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE had quite an array of terrific recurring characters, the best of which include Damar, Garak, Michael Eddington, Nog, and Martok, though there are many others.

I always had fun spotting Ayala on STAR TREK: VOYAGER. He's mainly a background extra (I think he has all of four lines in the entire series, one of which is simply "yeah") but he's in almost every episode.

ENTERPRISE had Shran, as well as Soval and Admiral Forrest.

Really, any recurring character from DS9 or ENT, the only two Trek series to get it right in that regard, in my opinion.

Sarek, K'Ehleyr, Ro Laren, Q, Guinan, Gowron, Dukat, Garak, Damar, Weyoun, Winn, Female Founder, Eddington, Nog, Martok, Soval, Forrest, Shran, Degra.

Ro and Garak for me, although I too have a soft spot for Vash, and she was certainly better looking than Harry Mudd.

TOS: Kevin Riley. Can I also say Rand, since she was only in a few episodes, really?
TNG: O'Brien (Is this cheating? He wasn't a series regular on TNG), Sito, Ogowa
DS9: Garak, Nog
VOY: Hard to think of any. Chakotay?
ENT: Hard to think of any

I thought O'brien's role in TNG was kind of silly. Pretty much all he did was have a baby and push the transporter button.
