Evidence of SNW being a possible alternate timeline from TOS

I expect there will be an impromptu remark about Pelia being picked up by a man in a blue box.

I don't expect such a line. However, if it were included, it should use gender-neutral language, since we know that the doctor can be male or female, and the old-school gender-neutral reading of man as human is inapplicable, since the doctor isn't human.

So, "... being picked up by somebody in a blue box" would be sufficient.

What if a male-presenting individual was observed picking her up?

Nope, not in Hemmer's case.

Hemmer was a great character and they could have done a million things with him before Scotty showed up, and instead they kill him off and the rest of the crew never bring him up again because now their focus is on Space Simka. That had about as much dramatic impact as the Defiant getting destroyed in DS9 only for them to get a new duplicate one two episodes later.

I once imagined that Hemmer would be the one to hand over the figurative toolbox to Scotty by the finale, which wasn't only 6 episodes long in my head.

All the talk of Pike passing the torch to Kirk, and there I was more excited to see the real owner get the keys. :p

So there's a blue police box in Pelia's quarters and no one thinks anything out of it because that's just the kind of shit she collects. After she hands off her duties and says goodbye to Scotty, Scotty leaves her quarters and as soon as the door shut behind him he hears the TARDIS wooshing sound from inside. He goes back in to check on her and she and the blue box are gone.

Hasn't Doctor Who suffered enough?

You imagined wrong. It happens

Hasn't he been brought up a couple of times since his death?

Star Trek the franchise has over 1,000 episodes and 14 movies. It desperately needs to be rebooted. Desperately.

No, it doesn't.

It doesn't have to be anything. There's no reason for people who like it to get excited by something else that Paramount declares to be Star Trek.

Because the only people who "need" for Trek to be transformed are the Ellisons. It's a property they own and want to make money from.

When you say that "Trek needs to be rebooted" you're saying "Trek needs to turn into something that people now like, instead of what it is."

Well, why?

Because people love the brand name? Because that's all you're selling.
