Eureka: Final Season (Discussion, spoilers, etc.)

I liked the Holly story, and the search for the spy story was pretty good (I was mad when they made Grace the spy because poor Henry's had bad luck with women already, but the end has me curious enough that it redeemed the story), but I couldn't stand the Jack/Allison story. It always drives me nuts in shows like this when couples who were getting along great, suddenly do nothing but fight after they get married.
 
So, from the preview for next week it seems Holly will have another episode centered on her? Getting tired of Holly centrism.

I finally got to watch this one.

Again, some nice character moments, but overall just not that engaging to me.

The thing with Grace and Henry...I don't know.

The honeymoon was fine, if not predictable.

I still say the Holly thing is not being acknowledged by the characters as being as creepy as it is. One thing though....what if she's right, and they're still in the Matrix?
 
Monumental indeed (and the way it was presented, I don't think she's a copy), but far from creepy. Just the opposite. I find it more disturbing that people-- most especially in the SF community-- would find advanced biotechnology or transhumanism to be something akin to "Frankenstein." I'm reminded now of my uncle, a religious fanatic who refers to life-saving organ transplants as "ghoulish."

Well, I think it's great that they saved her. I really hope they don't turn it into one of those "man must not tread in god's domain" things.
 
If it's her they saved, and not just a 3rd generation digital copy.

If you die, and somebody downloads an archive of your personality, you're still dead. It's just some copy walking around that looks and acts like you. You're still dead.
 
Gotta wonder why they're cutting and pasting instead of copy and pasting?

Seriously, it's because they're mac users isn't it?

But everytime they create a save point or back her up, there's a copy of her program which isn't so extremely huge that they would ever run out of server space to keep playing with versions of Holly...

I still think it's Senator Wen.
 
Allison was a total whiney jerk on their honeymoon.
Wake up, woman, it's Jack Carter that you love, not the things he does for you.

Especially after his, "My first marriage didn't work, so I'm working on fixing everything so this one works" speech.

She wanted a vacation. He wanted to start building their life together.
 
She was a jerk.

But he was just as intractable.

An igloo made from bricks of still moist dogshit would be just as pleasant a domicile for Allison.
 
Tonight, Episode 5:11 Mirror, Mirror

"A malfunctioning experiment cuts Eureka off from the world and threatens to destroy all human life in the town unless Carter can figure out who sabotaged the experiment and stop them before it's too late."

Is it me, or could that describe about half the episodes of this show?

At least half the episodes. And being top-secret, it's not like being in touch with the rest of the world does a whole lot. The DoD, yes, but when have they ever been helpful?
