I've actually been trying to narrow down about a thousand ideas of what to photoshop floating in space behind him.
Just been on www.empireonline.com. Two new pics from Star Trek XI and the magazine has a cover story on the new film. Out Thursday. Has anyone else seen this? Not even mentioned on trekmovie site!
No problem. I'll just merge this with the other one. Hang on...first time on here and now really embarrassed. sorry guys!
I tried zooming in on the image and it looks like just the delta shield. I'm not able to make out any department-type detail.http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/5017/trekkirk5gu4.jpg
Hmm... I have a black shirt just like this... now I just need that delta...
Anyone else notice that it is a plain delta (no departmental insignia)? Or is it just my eyes?
Don't leave us hanging like that! Show a link or post it or something! There's a another one been posted on the Empire website.
I think being a blank delta re-inforces the notion that it is just an undershirt. It is the same regardless of department.I was thinking... what if Kirk's black shirt denotes command school - he's not yet earned his commander or captain's stripes but is being groomed for it. He's been out of the academy for a while and is now training to be a first officer or something. The US Navy and the Royal Navy both have schools like that.
