Eaglemoss company gone?

Yeah, the paint jobs on the Johnny Lightning stuff is top shelf. The E-D is especially fantastic. Although the sculpting could be a bit sketchy sometimes (looks at engineering hull of the refit 1701/1701-A). In fact, when I bought up all the Enterprises from Eaglemoss, the only ones I skipped were the two versions of the refit, the E-D and the E-D from All Good Things. All because of the detail work.

I do prefer the stands Eaglemoss used though. I hate that big hole in the bottom, especially on their version of the NX-01.

I was thinking about those Johnny Lighting ships, and even those Japanese gashapon ships from Furuta. Both seemed like they were fun to collect, and there were some nice chase items. The Johnny Lightning ones in particular had some nice white repaints and cloak ships, like a cloaked TOS Romulan Bird-of-Prey with the bird design painted on.
Yep, I have that one, the cloaked Romulan warbird. It's funny because it's just clear plastic.

They don't bother me, the brackets bother me. I guess because for me it interrupts the ship's lines, and takes away the idea they're in flight. That may just be me, though. Also, the paint work on the Johnny Lightning USS Reliant is terrific.

*Sigh*

I just knew that something or other wouldn't work out with my Enterprise build-up. I just thought it would be having finished the model, but the saucer would be too heavy for the stand included. Guess I won't be having THAT problem now... Now that's stage of grief "anger" from me. Here comes "denial" and "bargaining": Do you guys think there's any chance of a buyer or some other company taking over the business and thus continuing a line like this? Probably not, right?

EDIT: And oh my God: what about their line of books? They were going to do this line of season-by-season guides for TNG, which I assume would be based on the (excellent!) content of the Build the Enterprise magazines. Hopefully at least that stuff will go to another publisher. Ugh.

Probably not, right?

Miracles do happen, but no, probably not. :weep:

Genuinely so sorry for your lack of return on what should have been a grand investment. I feel for all of you builders. As a model builder myself, I'd be absolutely gutted if I started something big and grand but could never finish it. Especially at the price the D was.

How very frustrating, I was a big fan of their XL range, I have a complete set of Enterprises, and some ancillary ships that I like such as the D'Deridex and the Reliant, as well as a Tardis and a Goa'uld Ha'tak. I'm particularly gutted the Stargate line won't continue now as I was looking forward to that.

I did wonder, as they kept doing that desperate sounding sale tactic that Anovos did near the end. A cost of living crisis is probably the wrong time to be trying to save a business built on people having disposable income for expensive toys.

I was really looking forward to Andrew Probert's Aeliggne "Vertibird" concept Warbird, which has been a potential future release for some time now. How sad we'll never see it. :(

Maybe we'll see one added to STO and can get it printed.
A reason why I’m not freaking out is because I’m forgetting all the cool models that had been announced, like the Vertibird.

Or the NSEA Protector.
Angelou class.
Caretaker Array.
Planetary Union fighter.
etc

Never knew about the Johnny Lightning stuff. I will see if I can snag a pearlescent refit.

I've never purchased an Eaglemoss ship, and while I would certainly have loved to have a few, I got to be honest, I always found their prices a bit too steep for me.
They are a tad-bit on the expensive side, especially the XL's and specials, yes. To this day, though, XL's like the E-J, Akira and Reliant, while having a few minor issues, are truly excellent desk models. And Eaglemoss exploited my OCD collector's bug (through my starship fanboi proclivities), scratching a deep decades-long-unscratchable itch. No regrets...

Yeah, they were a bit too high. It’s why I typically waited for sales. Or purchased off Amazon where I could get free shipping with Amazon Prime.

I had to replace my 1701-A last year when it broke while I was moving and it was ridiculously expensive on eBay. I was shocked.

Well I guess I don't have to ship back the extra Excelsior study model they mistakenly sent me...

yet another red flag. They weren’t making you return models that were sent by mistake. Like when they sent me the wrong Klingon Bird of Prey. Instead of having me send back the incorrect version I got to keep it along with the replacement. Basically a 2 for 1. And the incorrect one they sent me was the more expensive shop exclusive “landed” version.

Actually, the EM customer service person I spoke to told me to ship it back to them, even though it was their mistake and that I'd have to pay the return shipping. Which was why I hesitated about returning it, especially after hearing other people say that previous EM screwups didn't require you to return anything. It was really weird. But alas, it seems I don't have to worry about it now.

I have a bunch of Eaglemoss dalek figurines, but I always got them from other retailers. I don't have any of the Trek ships, though.
