hey fellow niners

mine would be

1) The tears of the prophets (my fave character is killed off grrrrrr):(:scream::eek:
2) Let he who is without sin :scream:
3) Valliant:scream:
4) Q-less:scream:

It is still an epic fail. The first species from the GQ to come in and they have mullets, stupid sticks, and like to gamble.
"Captive Pursuit", episode 6, 6th produced, aired week of 1/31/93
"Move Along Home", episode 10, 10th produced, aired week of 3/14/93

The Hunters & Tosk have the Wadi beat by 4 episodes.

You're getting confused by the dress uniforms scene, this being formal diplomatic contact.

-Move Along Home
-Meridian
-If Wishes Were Horses
- Profit And Lace
- The Emperor's New Cloak
- The Muse
- Fascination
- The Forsaken

Excrement, all of them.

It's funny though, I just watched "Code of Honor" and "Justice" last night for the first time in many years, and I have to say non of these comes close to the badness of either of those two.

In CoH's case, it's not only terrible, it's bloody offensive.

I actually kinda like Move Along Home, reminds me of something TOS might have done.

Yeah, DS9's worst eps aren't nearly as bad as TNG's early worst eps. "Profit and Lace" has the same repulsion factor as "Code of Honor" but in other ways, it isn't nearly as bad. At least "Profit and Lace" has no grounds to be banned besides viewer dislike, whereas "Code of Honor" certainly does (and Frakes wishes it were banned too).

"Code of Honor" looks like a movie out of the 1940s, back when the jungle genre was still big and back when that kind of stereotyping of blacks was common (e.g. most of the banned cartoons from Looney Tunes, Merrie Melodies, Tom & Jerry were from the 40s). I remember when I 1st saw it around 1991 or so, I thought it to be kind of dumb and old-fashioned, especially the idea of "Planet Africa". Alien worlds are supposed to be different (I later saw TOS did this with Earth history, thus Prohibition Mobsters Planet and Roman Empire Planet). I saw this ep again maybe a year ago and like antimatter wine, it gets worse with age.

I'll do by Season, and I'm going to challenge myself to pick episodes that don't usually get picked since if we all pick the same episodes, that's kinda no fun.

Season 1

If Wishes Were Horses - It felt like a bad TNG episode and it ended up being a little pointless at the end.

Season 2

Sanctuary - The Skreeans were annoying as hell.

Season 3

Meridian - I'm bending the Rules mainly because I actually liked a lot of the "not-so-well-regarded" episodes this season (Prophet Motive and Life Support) but this one was just bad.

Season 4

The Sword of Kahless - The more I watch this episode, the more I don't necessarily like it. I find both Kor and Worf annoying and it's another one of those "Let's fill the episode up with Klingon Honor mumbo jumbo" that I'm not particularly fond of.

Season 5

My favorite season, but I'm choosing:

A Simple Investigation - Haven't watched it in forever but I remember it being kinda slow. The chick from the Orion Syndicate was attractive though.

Season 6

Who Mourns for Morn - Many people love this episode and I'm not sure why. The whole Morn thing was a nice complimentary motiff for the rest of the series, but as an episode as a whole, was it really necessary? It's kind of going in the same vain as Enterprise and explaining the ridges. Yeah you have to make people happy who watch the show, but is nothing sacred anymore?

Season 7

Til Death Do us Part/Strange Bedfellows (The Dukat/Winn Bits) - I think these were the episodes which featured the most parts with Dukat and Winn. Honestly this stuff almost killed the Final Chapter for me.

I have to admit I actually don't mind Move Along Home *ducks for cover*.

Especially compared to Meridian and Prodigal Daughter. Let He Who Is Without Sin... and Profit and Lace are very close contenders though.

Whoever said "Q-less," I do see your point, but I can't entirely hate that episode, if only because it produced the FUNNIEST BLOOPER EVER in the history of Trek:

Avery Brooks (as Sisko): Bring them back Q! NOW!
John de Lancie (as Q): Or what? You'll ravish me? *breaks character, embarassed, muttering* It's not ravish, I'm sorry ...
Avery Brooks: *puts hands on his shoulders in an intimate way, leans in* I might.

*Everyone busts out laughing*

BEST BLOOPER EVER! HAH!

I think they are the worst ones I can come up with. Where I've shoved an episode with an asterisk I found the episode a disappointing way of continuing certain aspects of DS9's arcs.

I'm surprised I'm only the second person to mention "Time's Orphan." It's simply terrible, bringing the season to a grinding halt for 45 minutes.

Reading this thread just brings home how subjective the whole best/worst moniker is.

I for one thoroughly enjoyed MOST ferengi based episodes, with The Magnificent Ferengi ranking up there in my top five. One of the funniest trek episodes ever. I loved the HOQ and its sequel too. I felt the development of ferengi and klingon storylines, with the depth that they gave both cultures, to be one of the major reasons why DS9 is the best of the trek canon.

For me, worst episode would probably be Valiant :barf: I simply DETESTED the characters, and found the whole concept ludicrous from start to finish.

I actually cried at the end of "Time's Orphan."

My and my gf watched all of DS9 from end-to-end last year, and she wept almost all the way through Time's Orphan, and loves it beyond any other. I almost encouraged her to skip over it!

I'm not going to try and say that Time's Orphan was actually a well written episode, but when adult Molly tells her parents she loves them... :wah:. That was the only episode of DS9 that ever brought a tear to my eye!
